Awesome Bro

I own Nier on PS3 but didn't even make it halfway into the game before I moved onto something else... is Nier Automata a direct sequel to it, or will I be fine playing it without finishing the previous game?

I'm like addicted to playing FF1. I've been binge playing it every chance I get. The accuracy and random encounter rating in this game is broken as hell though.

I'm sure there are Easter eggs and some direct references but I didn't beat the original nier either and I'm still enjoying the story. The combat is closer to bayonets than the original.

Finally got back around to playing Mass Effect. Thought about starting a new game, but my old one was 5 hours in, I had already recruited everyone and got control of my ship. I figure it would all come back to me.
So I was stuck on an asteroid mission. I remember why I quit, I kept dying on it. Turns out it was a DLC mission, might might explain the difficulty although it wasn't really the combat- it was just a steep learning curve to avoid instant kill landmines and destroy turrets, plus relearning the controls. And every time I died I'd be back at a starting point and have run to my vehicle, drive a ways, shoot turrets in a certain order, get out and walk a certain path through proximity detectors, then kill some people. THEN it saved.

So once I finally beat it, I was stuck on the ship again trying to figure out where to go next, fumbling with the menus. I checked all the planets but I could visit anything. After an hour I figured out I had to Zoom out of the solar system, and then zoom out AGAIN to see the Milky Way. I'm dumb.

I know the dialogue branches are a lot like Dragon Age. But in Dragon Age, I was actually interested in the NPC's problems and learning more about the game world. But in Mass Effect I'm just - I don't care. I'm not asking questions unless I'm forced to.

That reminds me.. at some point I need to finish playing witcher 3. I got caught up playing the card game and never advanced in the story

Perhaps it is not a game for you, Coyote? Sure as hell the combat isn't great in the first one. Though I got to say, I did not care for the journal entries. Even though they're voiced, they're boring. XD

I got 2 copies of Witcher 3 for free. I found it really boring so haven't touched it for a long while. I think I got to the first pub? The game hadn't stopped tutorial messages so I was still in tutorial

That's a bummer. The only thing I didn't like was that it was a continuation of 2 so I had no idea what they were referencing half the time. I love the battle system and card game though. Also, I'm a sucker for open world/sand box games.

I wouldn't worry about it. As best I can tell, all three of the Witcher games are a mess where continuity is concerned -- they're all tied together by the novels.

Not necessarily, although I don't need many more to get it... I just like to make sure I've done everything, which included every side quest and the DLC cases too, and I did a bit of grinding throughout the game to get all the Digimon I wanted.

Now I'm playing Tearaway Unfolded, had it for about a year now but only just opened it yesterday lol, put about four hours in and I'm already on chapter 5 of 12, so I should have it finished by tomorrow or Wednesday depending on how much free time I get.

Afterwards I'm gonna' play... I don't know, I'll have a look at my backlog again lol, preferably something short though so I get through it quicker lol

Beat Atelier Sophie. Yay!

So now I'm going to play a W-RPG, because I want to make a character lol. I'm debating between Skyrim or Fallout 4, since I have ideas for both settings. Of course, they would played on the desktop with mods! But the only mods I REALLY want to use are like more hairstyles and options, etc. Nothing that would be TOTALLY different from the game. :P

Wait, you don't want flying Thomas the Tank Engines??? What is this lunacy! :-p

I've been getting into GW2. Started playing FF3 too. Also been thinking of trying FF14 again, because if it can grip me, it would be cheaper than GW2 for me (bad self control on not-so-micro transactions).

Finally used my Christmas gift cards and ordered Digimon World re:digitize for the PSP. It's in Japanese only, but an English Patch was released some time ago.

Still playing Tearaway Unfolded, almost finished it though, just started chapter 11 of 12, although I'm putting it down and heading to bed, will finish it tomorrow after work... or before work if I get up early enough.

I've got to say; I REALLY like this game! It's a little on the short side, for example I've been playing it for about 8-9 hours over two days and I'm almost finished with it, although I've been skipping quite a lot of the side quests and stuff, just eager to get through my backlog, so cutting corners where possible... I'd say to do everything and 100% the game would take 15-20 hours or something, which in my opinion is pretty good, and I've been having fun with the story and locations, so could definitely see some replay value, maybe I wouldn't do the entire game again, but there's a few chapters so far that have really stood out that I'd replay in the future.

Amazon pushed back shipping my Persona 5 because I'm not a Prime member, so I'm playing Lego Avengers to tide me over.

While avoiding the shit out of Tumblr on Twitter because people can't freaking control themselves.

So it turns out there's actually another six chapters to this game, there were only 12 to start with, but now another 6 have appeared... guess I'm not done with the game after all.
