Finally started Final Fantasy XV. Anyone who says this isn't a good game is an idiot! It's a top notch JRPG, but for being a mainline Final Fantasy it does not feel like I'm playing a Final Fantasy at all

The gameplay for that game is phenomenal. I think they focused a little too much on the sandbox type gameplay and lacked severely in story which is what FF is pretty known for imo. Game is great though! I still need to beat it. :fap:

For those interested, Horizon has one of the easiest platinum trophies ever. You get around 80% of the trophies just by playing the story and sidequests. Also, it's a great game with a very original story that really deserves to be played.

I strongly disagree. Imo, it plays more like a crappy action game than anything else. I also feel like a lot of the stuff they put in it was half-ass such as the game mechanics, the open world, the combat, even the story. After playing action games that require a little more skill (dark souls, nioh) it just doesn't even come close. The combat is so shallow it really only involves two buttons. The story follows tropes and cliches. Its more a jack of all trades but a master at none. For me, it was a huge disappointment

I'm STILL playing Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth, not letting myself play any other console game until I've beaten this, I'm now at around 80 hours and on chapter 15, I keep meaning to play more of the story but end up getting side tracked with digivolving EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I need to hurry the fuck up and beat it, I've got so many games waiting to be played in my backlog!

... On the PC side of things, still playing Overwatch as usual, over the last couple of weeks I've been playing a lot of Sombra, and since Orisa has released, so many people are picking her, it's almost guaranteed the opposite team will have one, and Sombra hard counters her into the dirt, it's brilliant lol. Until the other week I'd not played Sombra since PTR except for a few matches in arcade just messing around, like a team of six Sombra's for example, not exactly using any skill... but I'm really enjoying her, in my first QP match with her (Not ready to play her in comp just yet) I got a 20 killstreak, ended the match with 20/2, and got her pixel spray too... I don't get why people say she's underpowered, I can kill two 200hp heroes or a tank with one clip and still have a few bullets left over.

I completed Final Fantasy II (GBA), I actually think it's pretty good.

I'm now playing Final Fantasy IV (GBA), not my first time playing it, but it's my first time after playing it in a while. I'm shocked at how crappy I'm finding it. FFV and FFVI are both better games in terms of game-play and pacing.

Like, really I didn't expect to find FFIV to be as crap as I am finding it, I was looking forward to playing it again. I'm now looking forward to FFV GBA, but I'm first going to replace the translation with an edited version of the RPGe SFC translation (as discussed above). I just can't get over how bad the official English translation is.

Yeah i enjoyed Final Fantasy II, it jusy had an odd levelling system. Also i enjoy Final Fantasy IV but it's just really really short. Like 14 hours short lol.

Id final fantasy 2 (gba) the one where the more you use a weapon the better you become with it?
Weapons, armours, shields, spells all level up the more they are utilised.

Because of how the enemy targeting system works too, you can designate a character to take most of the damage and their HP will level up faster than the rest, creating a tank-character. The Famicom version is bugged so you have to re-equip everything each time a stat levels up, but the later releases of the game fix this and the system really shines through.

I miss it very much now that I'm playing IV. IV feels like the characters are completely out of my control - levelling up doesn't have the same sense of reward, which is why I'm now eager to play V or VI which both get this aspect down right (Job abilities and magicite).

I loved 5. It was SO DAMN GOOD. I've never beaten it though. I played it on m pc and whenever I got to the second world I'd be on the boat in the middle of the ocean with nowhere to go. Every time. I've never played 6 though. Only like the beginning. I hear that game is supposed to be just as iconic as it's successor though.

Ok, I'm done with playing slither. I think it's making me aggressive - or maybe just over analytical and unsympathetic? It's a multiplayer snake game, and it's basically eat or be eaten. I'll play it for a while and then go read some messages. But I'm not reading people's posts at face value anymore. I'll be reading into the motivations and reasoning behind it. Are they being defensive? Hopeful? It's like I see where they're going with it but I'm compelled to cut them off, like you would in the game, before they get what they want. So I'll start to call them out on it, aiming to strike a nerve, but then I think better not. Only after I had typed up some harsh words.

I've been playing nier:automata. Holy shit it's so good it definitely took me by surprise. The combat is simple yet requires timing and preccision. The plot has good twists and a lot of wtf moments. And the game is always surprising me in the best ways. Literally the game went from a bullet hell shooter to an action rpg to an open worldrpg within the first hour. It's pretty great. I think it does a lot of what ff15 wanted to do and does it so much better.

No spoilers or anything, but uh...Play it a second time. You'll thank me later.

I played the demo and it was alright.. I found out it's somehow a sequel to Drakengard and I was like wait what.

It is. It's also a sequel to the original nier. If you need a good action rpg to play that doesn't require an immense amount of skill (like darksouls) and has an interesting story, def pick it up.
