Welcome to HBGames, a leading amateur game development forum and Discord server. All are welcome, and amongst our ranks you will find experts in their field from all aspects of video game design and development.

What games are you currently playing?

I like the 3D, and it works great, but I don't think it was absolutely necessary. It also strains my vision. Although, that could be related to my really bad myopia, and the fact that I read on the computer and watch TV 18 hours a day.

I'm playing the Walking Dead game, and ... Holy shit it's pretty good!!!!

It's not cutesy or light like other Telltale games. Everything looks somewhat cartoony (think Borderlands) but holy shit it's gritty & gnarly in VERY surprising ways. Just finished Episode 2 and holy christ O_O

It's an adventure game, but the puzzles are not obtuse, and the UI isn't clunky. It is slow-paced, and involves a lot of talking to people and shaping the plot around decisions (sometimes, REALLY hard decisions). Think Heavy Rain, with less context button-mash (though there is some).

(Note that it doesn't involve the plot from the show or comics, but involves the world & sometimes the characters from them, though mostly in cameos.)

I am actually really damn impressed with this.

So true. I just beat Resident Evil Revelation and Dawn of Sorrow in Hard Mode. They were a breeze. I actually think that they were easier than Normal Mode because by the time Hard Mode is available you are already used to the game mechanics. Also, these games have New Game +, which makes it even easier.

I am not a good player. I remember a time when Hard Mode used to mean having to memorize where every enemy spawns and getting killed if receiving even a single blow from a boss. This kind of brings me back to the time my older brother beat Doom 64 on Hell Mode. It was such an incredible feat I was mesmerized for weeks.

Kingdoms Of Amalur

Beating the game on hard now, and either its not that hard at all or a mage is just broken.
its very rare now adays that a game on hard is hard

perhaps, but this game tops all in easiness. Unless it get swarmed by 2/3 ancient Leanashe who have a red name I don't even loose half my life and I play a mage so I barely have life.

Still playing Paper Mario.

Kind of got lost - even with a guide. D=

Am I weird for liking easy games, because I'd rather relax than get frustrated at my games.

Even so...

I was playing Crash Bandicoot 2 and I was RAGING so bad while trying to get all gems. XD

Doing all the side missions in AC3, finished the story last thursday.
Besides that I've been busy playing Left4Dead2, since it was on sale on Steam the other day.

... I think I'd rather cut my own dick off and insert it into my ear than buy a Nascar game...

Hold X/R2 (Whatever accelerate is on it), turn left every so often, yaaaaaaay.

No.

Kid Icarus Uprising

Ive had it for a while but never got into it because the controls were a little hard to grasp. But I tried replaying it recently and sinked some hours into it and it honestly is such a great game anyone with a 3DS should pick it up. The game requires a lot of strategy if you want to play some of the harder modes (for each level you can adjust the difficulty between 1-9 and the higher the rank the more currency you receive and the rarer the items become). The visuals are really cool especially with the 3D. There is so much content too and a lot of variety in play styles; it could keep you entertained for hours.

Anyone with a 3DS should pick it up, eh?

More like anyone with a 3DS who is also right handed should pick it up... I tried playing it, and as a lefty it was SO irritating and annoyed the fuck out of me... no thankyou. And I'm not buying a Circle Pad Pro just to be able to use it properly, making left handed people buy an accessory if they don't want to feel handicapped is a disgusting design choice.

Anyway, I'm currently playing the demo of Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward, it's actually really cool, but I'm still not 100% on if I want to buy the game when it releases here, since the EU version doesn't have English voice overs... not sure why they couldn't give us the same version they shipped to the US, but it's just a little stupid really, I wouldn't mind if US didn't get English voice overs either, but they did... so... yeah, what's going on there like?

If they're both the same price go for the one with the biggest memory, and see if you can buy Dark/demon's souls for first game
