The last film you saw

I recently watched "How to Train Your Dragon."
I have to say, it is now my favourite animated film. I'm actually so in love with it now!
Hiccup is an amazing character!

Loved how to train your dragon, probably my fav animated film too.

watched 2 new films yesterday.. the hobbit and the impossible,

hobbit - pretty good film, special effects and all are WAY out there
with the lotr films.. 10 outta 10 :P

the impossible - good film, based on a true story, bit slow at parts but
other than that i'd give it a 8 outta 10 :O

Ditto with how to train your dragon being a favourite fanimated film.

I watched Les Misérables last night. Wasn't too excited for it, but came out liking it quite very much! I love Russell Crowe's singing.

I've wanted to see that! It seems like it could be a good film!

So I got netflix for a month and decided to watch the boy in the striped pyjamas.

All in all it was a good film. It's made me a little bit depressed but meh.
Most of the characters are really well developed.
Theres a few things I'd want to know. Like, obviously it's a book and the book would go more into detail, but why did they decide to have the grandma die after you see her once? If you want to make a characters death have more impact then let the audience develop an attatchment to that character.
Also what happened to pablo or whatever his name is. The potato peeler guy. He spills the wine, then gets take out of the room and beaten. That's it. Then you never see him again. Except I thought I saw him again at one point, but that might not have been him.
It's all very sad but I'm glad it ended the way it did. Cause you never actually see the boy die, so I can just imagine that behind that door, everyone was okay and they all went home happy or something. Anyway, I'm planning on getting the book now so perhaps that will ruin everything for me haha!

9/10 Very moving.

... I've not seen the film yet and was actually planning on watching it sometime soon, thanks for spoiling it...

Prick :|:

hmmm yes.. @ ImHiPotion.. you really shoulda used spoiler tags not content hidden tags,
though I do agree on some of ur points about that film. Was a good film but not on par
with schindler's list.

@potion
after you watch les miserables

Oh shiz! Sorry jason. I thought that at this point, since it's been out for a while everyone had already seen it or had it spoilt for them anyway.
Blehg!
By the way, since the WW2 era interests me greatly, can anyone suggest any good movies about that time?

Awesome Bro

Downfall, Enemy At The Gates, Saving Private Ryan

... My three favourite WW2 films.

If you want something else too, watch the Band of Brothers TV series, you can download all the episodes, it was pretty amazing to be honest.

band of brothers was an awsome show.. totally agree with you there jason,
also, if you liked band of brothers.. you should take a look at the american
t.v. show thats set in w.w.2 about american marines taking on the japanese
during ww2, it's called - The Pacific .. that was a damned good show too.

Jason

Awesome Bro

Yeah, The Pacific showed over here too, but I wasn't really a fan of it to be honest, I still watched it all though, I mean, it wasn't bad, but it just wasn't as good as Band of Brothers, but I suppose I could recommend it to anyone wanting more WW2 films and series' to watch.

Life of Pi

was amazing, both in cinematography and philosophicality
never read the book though, so maybe it's still a shit adaptation, heh

a little late but inglorious basterds takes place around ww2 but its not historically accurate.
also Grave of the Fireflies is an animated film and takes place in japan during ww2. Very sad movie.

Inglorious basterds (Or Just "Inglorious" as the T.V. had to call it) looked alright. I might take a look at it.
Grave of the Fireflies is something I've wanted to watch for a while. I've heard it's very sad (And I've heard, My Neighbour Totoro was brought out at the same time so that people could go watch something cheery after seeing something soo depressing) But yeh. To be honest I prefer to see more "Life at home" rather than the actual fighting.
