I was actually happy that it wasn't much like the book. Having the author write a script for the movie was a good call. It wouldn't have translated well, and *definitely* wouldn't be received well with the common perception of Lincoln.

Yesterday I went and watched The Amazing Spiderman finally, in IMAX 3D too...
HOLY FUCKING SHIT THIS IS THE BEST SPIDERMAN FILM EVER I'M SERIOUS ABOUT THAT OH MY GOD
It felt more like the comics than the Raimi trilogy, and I especially liked that they used mechanical web shooters too, just like the original Spiderman. Having Dr. Connors/Lizard as the main villain seemed a little weird, I thought that right from the first trailer we saw with him, and he felt too much like the green goblin in the first Spiderman film of the previous trilogy, but still pretty well done I suppose, and I LOVE that they actually gave him only one arm too... just like the comics and his actual origin story, not sure why he didn't have one arm in the Raimi trilogy to be honest with you, but whatever, I like how it was done on here. Now, for Spiderman's suit, I'll admit when I first ever saw it, I thought it looked weird, but then I saw comparisons of it and the Tobey suit, and then compared both of them to the actual comic book Spiderman, and even though Tobey suit followed the proper red:blue areas of the original costume, the webbing pattern and eye sections of Garfield suit looked TONS better and more like the proper suit, and actually, the hands and feet, although being very different, seemed more... practical, obviously you would want some petter protection for the soles of your feet rather than just latex, and same with the gloves too... I've finally decided that the Garfield suit is the better suit of the two, and especially since Garfield is more lean and slender, his appearence fits the bill MUCH better, and the way he moved and stuff too... also I LOVED how he was the cocky sarcastic Spiderman as he should've been in the first place, loved that.
Overall, not spoiling anything, it's definitely my favourite Spiderman film (I liked it TONS better than Spiderman 2, and that's hard to beat!) and I can't wait for the sequel (Got to wait until 2014 though), I DEFINITELY think Andrew Garfield nailed Peter Parker and Spiderman (They had a threesome... could've used a better word but whatever... I also never liked Tobey anyway)... and Emma Stone is hot as fuck, as in so much hotter than Kirsten Dunst... she also played Gwen so much better than Kirsten played MJ in my opinion too...
