The last film you saw

Inglorious Basterds is a really good movie and its definitely worth your time. Both movies aren't really combat based at all.
Really? I though Inglorious Basterds was...
I'll have a look, see if they have it on netflix.

I also watched "9" today
It was good. But it all just seemed a little... too much epic. Like, every moment of that film seemed like it was going to have a huge climax. It didn't really. Although saying that, I really did enjoy it, it sorta reminded me of a final fantasy game... The animation was good too.

Just watched "Where the wild things are"
It was okay. Not amazingly good, but I did enjoy it and I felt myself well up at one bit.
The soundtrack is amazing, I enjoyed each and every song that was played.
It's a pretty cute film and I'd suggest watching it.

You spoiled the soundtrack being amazing. Now with no sense of anticipation of quality, I have no will to hear it. Thanks :(
Oh no. What a horrific horror :(
It's okay UWE, the soundtrack didn't want you to listen to it anyway. It's a racist soundtrack. Sorry :(

Well... just finished what could possibly be the most gory blood spatter film
i've ever seen in my life, more gore/blood than saw and any other film thats
like that. Story was pretty cool but acting coulda been better, if you don't
mind subtitled films i'd really recommend you watch this.. the films called...
"Adam Chaplin" though I think it should be called - "The Undertaker On Steroids".

film: 8/10
gore: 100/10 (yes! 100 outta 10, it's like a bloody japanese manga film)
acting: 6/10
subtitles: so fast if you blink you'll miss a few words at the beginning of the
film but slows down ALOT as the film progresses.. pmsl

I saw The Hobbit today. I was worried cause the only person who had seen it before me didn't like it and said it wasn't as good as the LotR movies. I loved it.

Especially this guy and his bird shit hair:

I guess I could have expected them to add stuff to tie it in to the movies. But Radagast was completely unexpected, but in a good way. You could see that something dark was raising that would later be in LotR and see another of Tolkin's wizards. Even if they took some creative freedoms portraying him. The only thing I didn't like was Gandolf calling the dragon "unaligned" and saying his motive for the journey was to slay the dragon so he couldn't be used by the enemy. It makes it look like he suspected something dark was coming even before Radagast told him about the forest. They weren't even sure the dragon was still alive in the beginning because it hadn't been seen for 60 years.

the problem with the hobbit film is it should have been made first.. but the lotr books
WE'RE still the better books of the series. I'd recommend just to read the hobbit book
and see how much they left out compared to how close the lotr films were to the
actual books. Im actually wondering if they'll do the pre-qual to the hobbit,
the simillirion, that'd be cool.

Technically you can't say they left anything out, since they're making a film trilogy, so anything that wasn't in the film will surely be in the next two... I mean, it's directed by Peter Jackson, and he did an amazing job with the Lord of the Rings films... you should wait to make claims like that until after the Hobbit trilogy has been released, lol.

I didnt say they had missed anything out, I suggested for coyote craft to read the hobbit and see how close
to the book it is and if they've missed anything out up to the point where they are in the book. It WOULD be
pretty stupid to start ranting, they've missed this out, they've missed that out knowing also too that its gona
be a film trilogy. That would be like sitting there and watching interview with a vampire 1 and 2.. (2 being
queen of the damned), and saying they were crap films cos they missed a hell of a lot of stuff out of the books,
where the truth of the fact is.. they missed a LOT of stuff out of queen of the damned but it STILL was an
awesome film but the books were definatly better.

I read the book in my first year of Highschool. I got the book collection when the movies first came out. Some parts stand out in my mind like them climbing a tree to escape the wolves and Gandalf throwing pinecone grenades. But I don't remember the rock giant battle at all. In fact I think they could have left it out of the movie, it wasn't that important. Except it kinda mirrored the scenes from the other movies. Like the camera shots of them walking through the mountains looked the same.

yeah i read that today on the net with an iterview a mag done with him, he said..

"rather than make a prequal of a prequal, namely; The Samillirion, I will incorperate
more lore and history into The Hobbit, like what we did with the special extended
editions of the lord of the rings dvd boxsets."

Awesome.. can't wait ^^

NOT sure if anyones aware.. there are 2 fan-made films of the past made in middle earth
one film tells you the story of when they tried hunting for golem which takes place just
before the start of the first LOTR's film, which is also part of the appendices of the books
.. here's the link to watch for free.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VaakJk9vR7U

The other film tells you the story of the dunedain, the rangers of the west before the war
of the rings..Inspired by only a couple of paragraphs written by Tolkien in the appendices
of LOTR it follows Arathorn and Gilraen, the parents of Aragorn, from their first meeting
through a turbulent time in their people's history.. here's the link for this film too ..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qINwCRM8acM

The dunedain films the better one of the two but both cinematography, music and storys are
pretty awesome, well worth the watch, I actually recorded these from youtube, changed them
over to mp4 and burned these to dvds to add to my collection ^^

To be honest, I'm not gonna' watch The Hobbit until the extended edition is released on bluray... then again, I might not bother buying any of the Hobbit films until the box set is released either, lol. I've already got the Lord of the Rings extended special edition boxset on bluray, and holy fuck it's one of my favourite boxsets ever! Especially with each film being over 4 hours long, lol.

if u like the lotr films id suggest watchin those 2 fan-films i linked in the last post,
thats if you havent seen em already jason.. they are pretty good, you'll enjoy em.

One of my fav boxsets is the 10 disc boxset of matrix, now thats a collection ^^
i bought that in a sale new for a measly £15 .. bargain ^^

I saw Gangster Squad, that was an entertaining movie.
Nice balance between action and dialog, maybe a tad too much action based, but the overall style was maintained throughout, which was awesome.

This week I also watched Django.
I have to say I had quite a big expectation of Django, since it was so hyped (in my opinion).
I'd love to say that it answered to that but I feel that it didn't.
Don't get me wrong, it was an AWESOME movie, and I feel really spoiled for saying this.
But it just either wasn't genius, or I'll have to watch again, to see things I missed.

I just feel there were a lot of things that were only semi-funny, if at all, which were clearly meant to be funny.
The first shot of Christoph Waltz riding in with that bouncing tooth on his cart was priceless though, and many others followed.

I saw Django Unchained a few weeks back and enjoyed it. My friend and I came to the consensus that it was not Tarantino's best work, but definitely entertaining.
