What games are you currently playing?

FF13 is alright. I'm just starting Chapter 3, I guess? In the first two chapters the battles felt completely pointless because the only thing you get out of them is the occasional item, but now they're more challenging that the Paradigm system has been introduced. I think their pacing of introducing different battle elements is definitely slower than it should be, but that might just be me! I really like the story and being able to read all of the background information separately is actually a good idea because some people wouldn't be interested while others (like me) find it fascinating. I think its strengths are in story (they do a very good job with characterization, although I think some of the dialogue could be better in places) and battles (after Chatper 2), but I haven't gotten very far so I probably shouldn't be commenting on that too much yet. :P

edit so I'm actually contributing to the topic: I picked up Rule of Rose, some pseudo-obscure horror game for the ps2 and I couldn't be happier. Combat is fucking terrible (So much worse than the early Silent Hill games, and that's saying something.) but it's redeemed by the completely bizarre setting. Look it up if you're a fan of unique horror games, because it's so messed up.

The game is fantastic,but man did Ubisoft screw up by "testing" they're new drm on it

I'd heard about this, and saw this video of it with the music of "One" by apocalyptica... It was some epic awesome shit. It looked beautiful, scenic, epic, and from the comments, apparently even the story was the psychological shit and stuff. However, a single look at gameplay reviews... yeah, I'm quite damn disappointed.

However, looking at the youtube vid just makes me wanna buy it.

It's all that and more in my opinion. It can be pretty hard to find, though, so if you don't want to go through the trouble of trying to find it and then playing the worst combat in a survival horror game ever you should take a glance at this dude's playthrough. He doesn't talk over it and he seems to know the game pretty well, so the atmosphere is very well preserved and a lot of the tedium is cut out.
