If you think it looks awful, and don't like not being able to directly control your party members, don't waste your time.

If you like the game doing everything for you, and telling it what to do everyone once in a while, and don't loathe Naruto, then by all means, get it.

I told my roommate to call me whenever Sazh is on screen, because that was the only part of the game I was willing to watch. He has asked me, "Did you... know ahead of time that Sazh is the only character who isn't a pile of DOG ASS?"

"Yes," I said. "Yes, I did."

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"You said you didn't want me to ruin anything for you, dearie. I figured the game would do it for me eventually anyway."

He's since adopted the theory I used on myself to finish FF12: he already spent the money, so he's already economically inclined to at least finish it for his wallet's sake. I'm proud of him.

well hmmm . . . how to answer that? It's extremely linear (mind you though, I've only played through 3 out of 13 chapters) but I am enjoying it. I don't get why everyone throws a bitch fit about it. No, it's not the best game in the world, but I don't feel like I wasted my money. I am being entertained.

Meh. I'll probably pick it up eventually when it's cheap. I liked FF12, and everyone hated that one. Then again, it was freeform, expansive, and there was tons of optional stuff, so...

Sort of like JD said, its entertaining but its not the best game ever. There are a few things that bother me:

1) In the menus, I cannot read the text and numbers very well, and find it hard to actually see the difference between a 3 and 8.

2) There is really no grinding in the game, so that extra experience dealios you might have kind of go kupput. Its a double edge sword.

3) The game starts out slow where it only consists of button mashing almost. Its going to take a while before actual strategy is involved in the B. system. Think XII but less options. However, you will have your hands full with one character, and the AI so far has had no problems. There is also an option to slow the speed of battles.

4) It takes a while before you actually understand whats going on in the story and you need to read all of the logs about the world to totally understand what is what, because half the time the game does not tell you.

5) The game is linear, but its basically X right now minus the puzzles.

6) The game does not have towns but there really is no need so dont worry about that. You can buy things at every save point.

7) I still dont understand the weapon customization thing, and I do not know whether if I am doing it right or not. Again, the game kind of throws you in the dark about whether you sell or use your loot.

8) While you dont have control of all your characters, they split up into 3 different factions, its not a huge deal. Non-active character still gain AP from battles. However, not every job is available to every character, so you really need to adjust to each character.

9) Sometimes in battle, I have absolutely no clue what I am doing. It takes some experimenting.

These are just a few gripes I have. Im like on chapter 4ish I think. Its really a matter of personal taste on whether or not you enjoy the game. If you are worried, rent it. Again, the game plays like X minus puzzles and in my opinion a better battle system that doesnt require you to switch your characters over and over. However, again, you are stuck with characters. The battles sometimes can be really hard or really easy depending on what you are doing and how you start the battle. o:

P.S.: Peri, I liked 12 too for the same reasons.

@bacon there is grinding in the game. its just pointless early on in the game. At Chapter 10 you get to use every class which each character and in chapter 11 you start needed LOTS of CP to gain shit. Plus lots of the enemies in the area you cant beat cause they are to strong D:

I've just been playing MAG. Got the game the day it came out and it's been the only game I've played ever since. I did beat Drakes Uncharted and would love to play the second one though.

So they've put the Resident Evil 5 demo back on the EU PSN (No idea why they took it off), and I've never played it, so I've decided to give it a try, because the Gold Edition seems like a bargain, it's basically £25 (When the game first came out it was £40), it comes with 3 DLC packs, 6 character skins, and versus mode. All that together would cost anywhere of £65/70+ (Including the game), AND it's compatible with Playstation Move when it's released later in the year. Not bad, eh?

I've just finished playing one of the scenarios with some dude online, it was pretty good, although the aiming felt grouchy, I hated how you couldn't run and reload or shoot at the same time, same with the knife, and how weak the knife was. I also hated how many shots it took to kill an enemy, provided I only had limited ammo (It's the rarest thing ever in this game!)

I think it'll be better when I buy the motion controller, since I imagine it making aiming so much easier.

@J.D. we should play the demo together on co-op!

the thing im hating about ff13 is that you do your first sidequest at chapter 11 -.- im assuming thats the 3rd disc on the 360

The 360 version is split between disks?

I'm about 20hrs into FF13 and the guide says I'm only halfway through the story. Obviously some of the chapters are longer then others. I think it's the most challenging of the series because I've gotten gameover like a billion times. You can't run away from battles but even if you die it just plops you down right back where you were on the map. The load screens are fast and the cutscenes/summons are skippable, woot!
