Awesome Bro

Well it took almost two months, but I FINALLY finished Xenoblade Chronicles. One of the bosses towards the end was the biggest pain in the arse ever, like, whoever designed that boss fight... I actually wish a cancerous death upon them, and have a personal message to send; You deserve this, fuck you.

... Overall though I really enjoyed the game, it may have taken me a few attempts to get into it (Last attempts were back in 2014/2015), but I'm glad I managed to get past the slog at the beginning, it starts off too slow for my liking, but definitely picks up, and yeah... good game with an interesting, definitely memorable, story, and a great soundtrack to back it up. (That I'll be revisiting, got some favourites already)

I replayed FFX-2 last week on a new game +
It was like the 5th playthrough of that file. But I probably restarted from Ch2 a million times. My goal was to get all the Crimson Spheres and unlock the Den of Woe. I've been stuck at 99% because I always miss at least 1. Walkthroughs for this game are worthless, they tell where and what chapter the spheres are in, but they leave out important information like "Goto this temple, after you've visited these other 2, but before you goto this other one. It will not appear as a hotspot"

So I finally did that and got 100% but I've never gotten the Mascot Dressphere either because it requires an "Episode Complete" in all the location in Chapter 5, But I always end up with an "Episode Concluded" because I can't keep track of what I've done in a savefile.

Got the urge to play FFXI again. Must be something about spring.
I'm on the road to lv99. Finally beat the 95 Level Cap quest.

At lv97 WAR atm. Waiting for my exp 150% ring to reset. Should be about 80,000 exp to go. So about 80 monsters give or take. So I estimate a few hours of grinding.

Once I get 99 I'm going to upgrade my equip. Then try to solo the Fafnir and Diabolos fights.

I finally started Fallout 4 last Wednesday... yeah, a little late to the party, lol. Turns out I actually really enjoy it, if I play it tomorrow after work I'll be coming up to 40 hours, which is quite amazing considering it took me two months to finish Xenoblade Chronicles at around 65 hours, lol. I'm only about halfway through the story though, and I've only joined the Minutemen, done a couple of quests with the Brotherhood of Steel, but not joined them yet, and haven't done anything at all with the Railroad yet, since I've not actually gone and found them, just been exploring, leveling up, working on my perks and S.P.E.C.I.A.L stats, and crafting my ideal weapons... stealth sniper, except instead of a long scope, I just use a dot reflex sight since I like to get in a little closer too, and don't want to have to rely on V.A.T.S for every kill I make (Why use it on an enemy in the same room as you?), and there's some insane perks for increasing damage done! I'm also using a combat shotgun with a bonus effect where shots explode on impact, so that's very fun... and then I've got a fancy serrated sword that I enjoy beheading people with.

Yeah, it's pretty fun... shame I only just got round to playing it now, I'm always so behind with games!

Holy Crap! lv99 and gear is ridiculously overpowered. I mean, when I read that boss fights are soloed at 99 I figured it meant they were manageable. I mean the Equip gives you like +100 in stats and skills, but damn! For reference, when I tried Soloing Diabolos at 95, I was doing <100 damage. And maybe clear a third of his HP IF I was doing good. At 99 I took out both Diabolos and Fenrir in under 2 minutes. My regular attacks were suddenly doing >500 damage, and once my TP gauge was charged I unleashed my best weapon skill and took them out while they were still at half HP.

My jaw was on the floor.

I've been playing a heck of a lot of Sea of Thieves with some friends. The game is ONLY good if you have a dedicated set of friends to pirate about with, the single player is just a watered down trading sim for babies - Elite Dangerous is a better game if you want this. I think Sea of Thieves should borrow a few features from Elite; the basics are there - but it's a very shallow game.

One excellent encounter we had last night was 3 of us on a galleon with +1 public, as I'm on PC and everyone else is on console I'm the middle man communicator with pubbies (the Xbox App is so, so very shit). We spent about 2 hours attacking a skull-fort, with so many other galleons and sloops attacking us. We sank about 6 galleons and 2 sloops over the duration of the play, we were unstoppable. Started off with practically zero resources on our ship and we still managed to put up a fight and sink well-stocked enemies - we're just a really good team it seems.

Well, we got tired of the non-stop fighting and zero progress and our 4th member wanted to join, so we voted the pubby into the brig in hope that he'd rage quit.

The poor guy said: "why am I in jail?"
Xilef: "Captain's orders"
Pubby: "after everything we've been through"
...
Pubby: "why you betray me?"
...
Xilef: "It's a pirate's life."
Pubby: "**** you"

He wasn't leaving so we voted to scuttle the ship with him in the brig and started a new session with our 4th member in. The mutiny is real.

Playing God of War, it's exceeded my expectations in every aspect so far, and I can see why it's a 95/100 on Metacritic... like holy shit it's so fucking good, it's hard to put into words without spoiling anything, but if I were to rate it out of 10 right now, it'd be an 11... unless you play it you literally have no idea what you're missing out on!

Coyote, I had friends who were into FFXI maybe about 15 years ago. I tried playing it once, killed a couple of hornets or something in the starting area, and didn't get too into it because it wasn't as pretty as World of Warcraft. I wouldn't mind giving FFXI another try, but I would never pay a monthly fee to play anything. I've heard whispering about a possible single-player version. I would play that.

Xilef's pirate antics are one of the reasons why I never play anything online.

I've played all of the Fallout Games except for New Vegas. I'll get around to Fallout 4 one of these days. I'm just waiting for it to reach $5 in a Steam sale, maybe in the next few years. Probably will never play God of War, even if it ever does get released on PC. It sounds like the Tales games are something I would enjoy. Maybe I should try one out. And Amy, I never played any Pokemon games. Seems like a lot of people get really into it. If hypothetically a 37-year-old man were to take a look at Pokemon for the first time, where should he start?

The last game I played was Darkest Dungeon. It's a fun game, but there's not a huge sense of progress. You train your guys up to max level, and then the max level dungeons are tougher than anything you faced while leveling up your dudes. So your town just becomes a conveyor belt that takes rookie adventurers to max level, then to their deaths in one of the impossibly difficult level-5 dungeons. Seriously, in a recent dungeon crawl, I sent 4 max-level heroes in, and it wasn't even a dungeon with a boss--just a collect-the-stuff dungeon--and everyone was fine going into the last room, and I lose half my party in a random encounter. It was a fun enough time-waster, but I don't think I'm going to finish the game.

Ffxi had a free week for previous players. I played the last 2 nights, but dang it, I won't be around for the rest of it.
While I'm house sitting I might play on of the tales games I bought last winter. I haven't finished fairy fencer f, either. But it's a compile heart game.

I went back to Destiny 2 recently, after the Warmind DLC. Even if the main problems weren't solved, this DLC was a big improvement and a step in the right direction. I'm also looking forward to the 30th and the Bless Online release, even though I know the game will probably die a horrible death. I'm just looking forward to the fresh MMO experience lol.

I got a replacement ps3 for $60. It's comforting to know I can play my games whenever I want now. My trophy data is all online.
I've beaten most of my games so I don't care about too much about the save data.

If I can somehow repair my old ps3 long enough to transfer data over, only thing I'd really be salvaging is my Agarest War save data that took forever to get to where I was at. The time I invested in it is the only thing holding me to it. I have no love for the actual game itself since it's a Compile Heart game.

I never finished the Mass Effect Trilogy either, I was somewhere in the middle of 2. I'll have to start it over.

Strange, I don't actually feel like playing anything now.
