What are you working on? (Game Making Thread)

I'm torn. I can either continue working on xiLib to prepare it for my 24hr develop game contest, which would benefit Battle World RPG as that also uses said library collection, however I have been working on Battle World specific sections recently so it would be breaking my work flow.

Alright so I decided to start planning Battle World properly rather than work on any programming today. This is a very important stage in development and, while it feels like I'm getting nothing done, it will help me a ton when I get into full swing on this monster project.

Awesome Bro

Decided to flesh out my first village a little, I've now mapped all the buildings, and by that I mean three houses and an inn, lol, they're bigger on the inside than they look on the outside.

Now I'm adding NPC's into them all, and more interactive items, like pots and boxes to take items/steal from from and such, and making the village more lively... although I'm trying to make it look "realistic" as in each NPC you see outside the houses, actually belong in the houses, since it'd be silly having three houses and like twenty people outside... then again, nobody really cares or notices, and it's like that on just about ever RPG, lol.

HAH!

My first village also has a shop!!! :P

I'm supposed to be working on battlers of my main character, but having friends over is not helping. XD

Yay, just made a proper inn system myself, I mean, VX Ace already has a default one, but I don't like it, it's not... interactive enough.

Souls
Most of enemies drop their souls when defeated.
You can collect it by getting close to it, And can be used later to improve actors.
Soul's color and size variate accordingly to its power.

Looting Bodies
Defeated enemies can leave their body.
Pressing C Key on the body will collect all items in it.
Pressing F Key on the body will open up item window and you can choose which to take.

Finished working on Notification Window.

This feature is designed for player to get information of situation they didn't met before, or inform players immediately.
When window appears, game pauses. Pressing C Key will resume the game.

Also It can display animated sprites. The flames-thingy in first screenshot is actually a 4-framed animation.

A village with...non-Euclidean trees passing through bridges? Also, are you using a script for that delicious gradient text fill, or are those texts actually pre-rendered images?

DJ your game looks bloody amazing, if you ever translate it, I'll definitely play it!

Right, what am I up to?

... Well, I've decided that battles will be in the game, originally I was against them, but if they weren't... there wouldn't be much to do, although some side quests I'm planning don't involve battles at all... so yeah, basically been doing some editing in the database, giving enemies custom stats instead of the default ones, since they seemed... meh.

I've also decided that, as well as inns and shops, there's going to be travelling merchants too, or merchant, just one, like O'aka from Final Fantasy X since I think the idea of being critically injured, only one party member left, with no healing items, and having to try and run back to a shop to buy items would be annoying and get you killed or something, so there's going to be this merchant... maybe more if I decide to, although with just one it'll be easier to add character, make him more lively and such, anyways, he'll be placed around the world for convenience.

Thanks Jason :) I'm thinking about the translation once the original version is done.
(I'm going to release demo sooner so maybe i could release translated demo version.)

And what about your logo? I got your PM and replied "i can do it for you" but you didn't reply.

I solved the one-guy-left, low HP problem a very different way, the defence stat is what keeps my squad alive, defence needs to be taken down each battle before HP damage can be inflicted.

I won't go into details as it's quite core to my project, but it let's the player go through battles with no damage to their HP at all, so retracing steps means less risk, of course stronger monsters can take out your defence which is when it's time to buy new armours and re-adjust your summons
