Vagrant Euphoria: Revised

Hey guys. Once again, sorry for the posting delay, but I have very busy. I have stopped development of the script and 3D, and have gone backwards to design. I'm not sure why, but something has just struck me to go and start on environmental design. I am going to focus the central geography and architecture on Asia, mostly South Eastern. It's beautiful there, and the jungle, forest areas are amazing, as are the beaches. I will also bring in some Middle Eastern and Mediterranean styles in, but they won't be the main focus.
I have done work on the Atmorider, which has been officially dubbed the Aegris. I will post up the image sometime today or tomorrow, either or. Don't expect a post for possibly a few weeks. I am going to research as much as I possibly can about the architecture, and begin a full on assault on the map designing. Thats about it for now, I will post been when I can. Later, Roxas.

Hey guys. As some people on the forum are already aware of, I have had a pretty bad fever the last week, which has been the reason for my inactivity. I haven't been doing very much recently, and I also haven't been able to go to my 3D classes. But, I am happy to announce, that I am now much better, and things will be getting back on track. I have finished another page of script, which is very minute, but, it is a start. I have gotten about an hour and a halves worth of game play in the script right now, only 15 pages. But, I think I am keeping time extended really well while making the game constantly interesting, which is great because I am hoping for 40+ hours for the game.

I have finally decided that I am just going to buckle down and learn C++, because I have official chosen to move the project from RMXP to the Torque 3D engine. RMXP has been great for me, it has given me inspiration and it has allowed me to push my creative scripting limits, but now it is time to progress to the next step, and really get this ball in motion. I hope that I can stay here on this forum, and that you all still continue to support Vagrant Euphoria.

I have finished the concept design of one of the major cities, it isn't named yet. It is the first city that you go to when you leave the Vagrant Base. It is a sort of rural, jungle-ish area. I wanted to show how the Machine's control is slowly spreading from Vyandrium to the other cities, and since this city is farthest away, it wanted to make it as simplistic and non-mechanized as possible, and I think that I was able to achieve that. I will post it up tomorrow. I think you guys are going to like it. Thats it for tonight everyone. Its good to be back, up and running again. Night, Roxas.

Hey everyone. Sorry for the lack of activity recently, but I have decided to stop posting for a little while until I have a good portion of progress done. I just wanted to post in order to let you all know that the game is still being worked on, its not dead. I have gotten a few PMs asking and I decided to just post to let everyone know. Later, Roxas.

:) I'm sorry I haven't said hi or dropped in for a while.

Glad to hear you've decided on the engine, and I'm looking forwards to the non-industrial town.

Let's see how long it takes the mods to decide whether this still belongs in this sub-forum or not. :D

Lmao, you think that Vagrant Euphoria needs it own forum? I don't quite think that the game is that developed or even that popular yet. But, I have been thinking of making a website, vagranteuphoria.com. I can post all the updates, pics, character designs up there, and you guys can get them fast. I have also been looking into marketing strategies. I am seriously thinking about taking the game to stores. If an 18 year old can sell a world famous book and turn it into a motion picture, (Eragon), I think that Vagrant Euphoria can be the same.

XD No I meant that Project Discussion was a sub-forum of RMXP, so this should be moved to game creation if the mods want it bad enough.

Hey guys. Sorry for the delay, but, school is coming to a closing, I have to work on finals now. Plus, I said I wouldn't post until I got a lot more done. Well, I have been working on the script, of course. But, I have also been working on the environment design, as you all know. I have created two new cities. The First, is a water, ice city. Please, do not automatically think, FFX. The two cities are very different. The city is designed where in the lake, there is a tunnel. But, not like a concrete tunnel, I mean there is a big whole in the water and you get to walk through it. The water is being held up by machines intergrated with magic. As you make your way underwater, you eventually reach the cocoon. This is where the city is. It is a cocoon of ice, and inside is where the city is. Cool huh? Gotta leave for school now, I will talk about the other one later. Peace out guys, Roxas.

whats blue gender? If its the dude in the picture, the only resemblance I see is the hair, and thats only sort of because the front is different and so are the side burns.

Hey guys. I have a little update for you. I have been tinkering with a new tool in Maya that I just found out about. Its called sculpt geometry. It's an interesting little tool. Its main function is build up geometry on a model. I will show you what I mean. You guys remember this guy right, the alien

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d10/U ... ienpic.jpg[/IMG]

Yea, we all remember him. But, what is this guy is supposed to be an alien soldier? He's pretty damn scrawny looking. Well, building up muscle flow is a difficult task. Unless, you use sculpt geometry.

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d10/U ... leflow.jpg[/IMG]

Well, now this guy looks like he can kick some ass can't he! Its a great little tool. I need ot work on is some more, study some anatomy of muscle flow. But, this is definetly going to speed up the process.

Hey guys. I have been working on the script again today. I have gotten a few more pages done. So far, I have set up the basic plot, introduced a few characters, briefly shown the antagonist, and added a mystery into the game. The mystery is slowly building, I have introduced two people who are slowly watching. I think it is going well, but I want to add more of the mystery into the game soon. I've got about 20 pages done, and so far, I think I have only 2 hours of game time. I feel really good about that, because that means that this thing can definetly become a full length game.

I am not sure. The simple fact is, I don't know who I would cast. I mean, I don't really know any actors, lol. But, I think I might be able to. If not, then I will just be using text boxes for in-game and then subs for cutscenes and FMVs.

I love it, Roxas. That alien is awesome. I can't wait to see how much better Vance will be when you utilize the sculpt geometry tool.

Glad to hear from you so often. :)

Actually, I have decided to model out Lenne and Gaele first. It is actually much easier to do them due to the fact that I actually have reference images for women. I can't seem to be able to find reference images for the dudes, so, I am going to do the women first. Lenne and Gaele are going to have there own specific modeling, and then most NCP women are going to just be one universal model with different hair and clothing.

Ok guys, I have been postponing and postponing it for as long as I can, and I have finally decided to do it. This game is dead

...HAHA, yea, got you didn't I? No, no, seriously, what I actually am talking about is posting up some of the artwork that I have done, that is what I have been postponing. Tonight it will be uploaded, so come back expecting some new stuff within the hour. Be back soon, Roxas.

EDIT: Alright, here is a the first of two designs. This first is of the Aegris, the atmorider of the Vagrant.

And this one is of the first village you reach, Kyarubju.

It is the first design because I think it might look a bit to much like Besaid re:FFX. But, I think it does look pretty nice.

Holy shit, that joke was such a coincidence, I was going to write it on my game but decided to check your thread before I write anything on mine, so if I did post, it'd come top of the list lol!

Oh my god, that is SUCH a coincidence, I was literally going to do it before I read this... you stole my thunder biatch! lo!

lmao, sorry bro. guess great minds think alike eh?

Alright guys, down to the serious stuff. I am revamping the world map that I originally created. I want to change around the world, change some areas. I want to add more fantasy into this game. It IS a fantasy RPG after all. I especially want to work on some of the cities. I have a few ideas about some stuff. For one, its the ice city. Picture the entire city, encased in a cocoon of ice. Another is a city built onto the water, this one is a forest setting. The entire city built on water, with an enormous tree in the middle of the city, growing onto each house. You will notice a key element throughout the game's city environments, water. Water is symbolic of life, and its also a symbol of basic civilization. You notice that the more you see the machine spreading through the cities, the more the water changes or disappears, until you get to Vyandrium, where there is no water in the city at all. In the city map there are two main continents with about five major cities. You have some ruins, a few villages in other areas, i.e, deserts, mountains, things of that nature, but the five main cities will be The City of the Ocean Kyarubju, the City of the Water, the City of the Cocoon, The City of ???(not sure yet), and the City of the Machine, Vyandrium. I will begin first with design of the world map. Then, I will do the four cities, and finally, I will work on the environment.
