Vagrant Euphoria: Revised

Well guys. Just a few more days until the release of the first draft. I hope you guys like it, but just keep in mind. Many things are subject to and probably will be changed. But, I have a good feeling about it for what it is right now, the first draft. It might take a few days after July 4th, only due to the copy rite stuff, but don't worry. It will be ready. Thanks divine_engage. Well guys, the script is coming to its completion. But, due to the copyrite site I'm using I will have to release it on the 8th instead of the 4th. But, to give you guys a taste, I will release the ending of the game on the 4th. If I can swing it, I will try to release it as close to 4th as I can, but the site is use is kind of a bitch. But, it will be released by the 8th, MAXIMUM. That's a guarantee. Thats about raps guys. Later, Roxas.
 
Hey guys. Well, the 4th is tomorrow, and I'm sorry that the script can't be released as promised. But, I do have some good news. First of all, the script IS done. As it is the first draft, I tried to keep to 100 pages, but it got to the grand total of 103. Second, it WILL be released Monday, July 8th after I can finally get it copyrighted. And finally, since I promised I would release the script tomorrow but I can't, I will do something. I will release a good portion of the script, about half of it tomorrow for everyone to read. Well, thats about it guys. So, be on the look out tomorrow for the sneak peek, and then get excited for next monday, because you all then get to read the script.

I know, I have to resize the image. This site is good for now, but its not permanent. I am going to try to learn HTML to make my own site. What do you guys think of the script? divine, atnas, petros, any thoughts?
 
It's a refreshing experiance to of finally read it all lol. It's Great. Beautiful, magnificent XD.... Hope to here more on this game, You've made me want to play this game so much more!
 
Lol, I hope you're ready for about 60 more pages. Thank you so much, that is such a compliment man. I've never shown anyone my writing, so its amazing to me that you like it so much. There will definitely be more on this game, don't worry about that man. I'm really happy that you liked it, and I hope you like the ending. Petros, Atnas, you guys have any criticism for it?

After I release the script, I am going to start pumping out some SERIOUS artwork guys, like I said, I have a few more character designs to finish, I need to redo some of Vance, and then come the environment designs, so be ready for those bad boys.

EDIT:: Damn, I just read back on some old posts of mine. I was promising the script out in January of this year. How freaking crazy is that. Now, in July, is when it's actually being released. I'm sorry it took so damn long everybody, lol. I was also reading about my Revolution engine. That was an interesting idea I was playing with. I think it's still possible actually, but I'd be less laggy to do with RGSS. Just change the image size of the map based on x and y variables. Its like a script is saw on the forum a while ago for perspective. Hmm, mixing an isometric script with pixel movement, and a 360 variable system, a 3D camera might actually be possible. If, you took the time to create maps with 360 views of each one. That would probably take a while though. I was in way over my head when I started this thing, that would have taken forever, lol. I wish I could have stuck with RMXP, but I think Torque is going to be much more effective. I still might do that Revolution engine though, you never know.
 
Hey guys. Sorry to have to put another delay on this, but the script's copyrite still hasn't been registered, so I'm afraid I can't post it yet. I will post it when the register finally goes through. Until then, you guys are just going to have to wait.
 
Hey guys. I just wanted to post something about the recent inactivity. A lot has been going on recently, a lot of family and friends stuff, and it has caused me to take a temporary leave from working on the game. The inactivity is going to end soon, probably within the next two weeks. The script is currently going through the second draft of writing. I am aware of the fact that the script was never released, but the copyright issues got very complicated and I decided not to post it until the final draft. I am going to finish the touch ups on the second draft, and then I' going to jump right in into the design stages. So expect some serious artwork pumping out soon. Thats about it, I just wanted to let you guys know what was going on.
 
Hey everyone. Got some news about the battle system and the design. First, the battle system.

Since I'm trying to create a battle system with complete cinematic freedom, I've been watching some of the cinema to get some inspiration and to understand what will have to be possibilities in the battle system. It basically breaks into three categories; Weapon/Fist movements, Guarding, and Aerobatic Maneuvers. After watching a lot of action movies (Crouching Tiger, Matrix, FF7AC) I noticed that a lot of the visual beauty in the battles comes mostly from the aerobatic tricks the characters do. The flips and spins and wall runs and midair kicks and slices. So, what I'm working on right now is basically how to achieve full movement freedom. A way to freely animate your character, meaning the battle system will need a real time animation engine. I'm also trying to come up with a way to freely move your sword or arms in any direction or way. You will basically be able to completely control how your character moves, attacks, and guards. I'm still trying to figure out how to make the controls flow well, after that its pretty much done in concept phase. Haha, then comes the EXTREMELY hard part of programing it.

Now, onto the designs. I am going to be completely redoing Vance's character design. It doesn't work. None of it flows, and it doesn't really portray his personality well. Vance is aggressive in battle, but calm and pensive in life. He is troubled, mentally exhausted almost. So, I want his design to portray anger, yet a buried calmness. I have been looking a lot to j-rock for inspiration. I think my new design is good at showing his exterior aggression, but at the same time, it's not extreme, the way it flows is very calm, especially his expression. I have it in my mind, most of it anyway. I will draw it when its finished in the ol' noggin.

Thats about it for now. Trying to keep you guys updated with what I'm thinking about, and also letting you guys now the game is still being worked on. Talk with you guys later.

I like to hear some feedback from you guys. Let me know what you think about the battle system ideas, or what I released of the script. I always love to hear criticism.
 
Hey guys. Just a quick update, I updated the main page of the thread. Now you have descriptions of all the main antagonists, descriptions of the locations you will be visiting, and a deeper description of the battle system. Also, I am redoing the character development system. I didn't like it, so its being redone. Thats about it. I'm taking it slow for right now, I worked pretty heavily on the script, so now I want to take it kind of lightly, and get things done when they get done. I am going to be doing Vance's design sometime this week, when its done I will post it. I am going to try to make it as professional looking as possible, so this might be his official game artwork.
 
I know it's been ages since I've posted here Roxas but I thought I'd just let you know I am in the process of reading that script you put up a while back and still trying to keep tabs on this topic. It's been quite hectic in terms of RMXP for me because I intend to release the first Chapter to my game at the end of the month. Don't worry. I'm still watching you... that sounded kinda sinister...?
 
I just read today about the release of the first chapter. Congradulations man, I can't wait to play. I also can't wait to hear what you think about the script, or actual just that little part of it. I'm happy to hear that you're still interested in this project, and that you're still watching...me...? Yeah, that does sound weird, lol.
