The last film you saw

A surprising number of people dressed up.

I was tempted to wear my indiana jones outfit there and then be like "oh crap wrong premiere!"

but i made a note of calling a lot of people gandalf and that really sets off potter fans for some reason :D

Went and saw harry potter on thanksgiving day. i thoroughly enjoyed it. i teared up when dobby died which is appropriate as that was the only moment i ever actually cried while reading a book. Still, i felt where they decided to split it was probably the most appropriate place.

Okay, speaking as a teenager and actual reader of the series I guess I was pretty hyped for hp7. But though effects and setting and stuff were pretty cool and a step up from some of the previous movies, it was still a tiny bit of a letdown.

The actors' ages were beginning to show; they seemed more mature and adultlike than the teenage wizards I'd grown up admiring and relating to. I was mainly put off by the action, though. Most of the battles were either short and boring and lacking atmosphere (bar fight), or too quick (flying motorbike chase; forest chase [which was mainly a shaking camera and running through trees]). Hopefully the second part's war and such will get some better battle scenes?

The environments were pretty cool, though, like Ven mentioned, and that one animated part. Some of the character scenes were moving, though I suspect that's partly due to reading the books. One last thing I have to comment on, and that's Voldemort's face: I swear his "nose" is just a thin piece of cloth with two nostril markings pressed against his face. Anyone else notice that?

Ultimately, I'd call it a decent film, worthwhile if you're really into the series and don't care if it's not impossibly spectacular. If you haven't watched it, surprisingly, there actually is a nude Harry/Hermione makeout scene. I thought my friend was joking when he told me, but no, it's in there.

yea im not one to balk at adult content but that wasn't really adult content it was just

really awkward and random :/

anyone else think Warrior's Way just looks super awful?
like the set/art design is fantastic but
... really? a cowboy samurai protecting a baby from ninjas.
....... really?

Looking forward to True Grit though!!
I <3 the Coen Bros

Last film I saw was the latest Harry Potter Movie. All I have to about that movie is that if you haven't read the book, you're going to be hella confused when you watch it.

Awesome Bro

The Last Airbender...

Yeah, I watched it finally.

It was pretty odd, I mean, I don't watch the anime so I didn't really know the characters too well, although watching one episode a while back helped me with the names sort of, although I knew Aang anyway, lol. The storyline was pretty meh to be honest, fire nation = bad, all others = good, that's all I needed to know to be honest, but they made it drag on pretty long and I wouldn't mind if the acting wasn't subpar from just about everyone on the set.

Although what I will say was amazing, was the special effects, they were so well done and just looked spectacular, especially the water and fire.

But yeah, apart from liking the special effects, everything else was subpar and I didn't enjoy it too much, it's one of those films I'll watch for free (Like I did), but wouldn't pay any amount of money for it.

If you thought The Last Airbender was odd, I just saw a horror movie from M. Night Shyamalan called Devil, which sucked and was incredibly insulting to Latin Americans. Is it me, or has M. Night Shyamalan produced really crappy movies lately? I hated his conception of The Last Airbender.

If you guys, by any chance, have seen Devil, trust me, not all Latinos carry a cross necklace in their necks, start praying to random strangers in elevators, and throw other people's jelly-covered toasts to the floor.

The only M. Night movies I've liked all that much were Sixth Sense and Unbreakable - the Village had a nice atmosphere and scenery and totally got ruined by the "twist" imo.

also I finally got to see Harry Potter~

I thought it probably did about as well as a movie adaption could be done, but I have to agree that the naked makeout was a bit much and sorta jarring - they could've just had them continue taunting him or something.

well yeah, that's stereotyping a whole race, which is stupid. Rather, when i see people like this, I think it reflects on THEM, not the RACE

but i really didn't have a problem with the latino guy. Sure, major stereotype, but he was a useful character that was basicaly there to explain that OOH LOOK IT'S THE DEVIL, the easy explanation for shit. without him, no real explansation for devil.

i mean, if constantly there are people that are the exact same throughout all your works becuase of the race or shit, then that would be stereotuping, but whatevs
