The last film you saw

Watched Terminator: Salvation on Saturday
wow that was ...
uh
something
i ..
guess

:X

Watched The Hurt Locker just now. Wow ok that was a very unexpectedly good movie. No real plot per se, it's "follow these soldiers around as they deal with crazy ass bombers". Really did a great job of putting you in the moment.

hey i went to see avatar this weekend too
in imax 3d
and
fuck you moog

while the story wasnt that interesting, and very predictable, the cinematography of the movie was fuckamazing.
cgi was just.. believeable, the music was good, the scenes were well put together..
everything apart from the story was ace
also that planet REALLY intrigued me
although they could've done a lot more with it story-wise

and really, im NOT looking forward to avatar 2, because, that'll screw it up for me.
it'd be like a titanic 2, not really contributing to the story, but just cashcowing it.
i mean, what could happen in 2? there will just be some fresh enemies, the main character will do something awesome.. bla bla
it might work if they make like a documentary with a grand finale, but not as a movie.

well im not saying avatar is bad; ive never said that, ive just said its gotten way too much undeserved acclaim, the writing is subpar and the acting is B+ at best. the hurt lucker is much better though, honestly.

yeah the hurt locker was definitely the biggest artistic cinematic achievement I've seen from movies in the past year. though i haven't seen everything.
i just really really appreciated how realistic the pacing was, and how it lured you in with gradual character development instead of having an easy-to-define plot.
plus it gives you an introspective on what's going on with present-day soldiers--a mindset that no one seems to be able to sympathize with in their day-to-day lives.
i especially loved the scene where the main guy ended up back home, in a grocery store---how something so stupid as the cereal aisle looked endless and daunting, despite his having defused ~850 bombs overseas.

just recently saw beowulf. idk, i kinda liked it. i don't get why everyone's all 'OMG IT TURRBLE' it was kinda cuu imho

Yeah, Beowulf was pretty cool to be honest, except it went from being very slow paced to holy shit it's the end?!

I watched parasite dolls recently. An O.K anime but if your not an anime fan I would'nt recomened it. watch elfin lied first then slowly wean towards it. as for the movie sub-par at best taking place over 7 years or so but yeah the second bit was the weirdest part. Robot prostitutes getting killed it was strange.

I really liked Avatar. I saw it the other day at the cinema. I do not get to see many films ^^ too expensive for me, so perhaps it was that it was a big screen experience that swayed me. I hate the Avatar fanboy/girls as much as the next person but I also hate the Avatar haters who have yet to even watch the movie. I felt it deserved the praise it was given and that it ranks highly with other great films. I would not live my life by it, cosplaying as a 10 foot tall blue alien ^^ (although, it would be interesting in bed...)

avatar is one of those films thats worth seeing. its not terrible but its not amazing, its right in between with a lean toward the good. its def. a good film but doesnt deserve any awards for acting, direction or overall definition. maybe for music and graphical quality but THATS IT

Well I haven't seen it yet, but I'm assuming it's going ot have a Watchmen affect, atleast here anyways, I mean, there's people who have seen it, and loved it, think it's the best thing ever, then there's the ones who understood the plot, but weren't wow'd by it like everyone else, but fair do's, they usually have their own opinions. AND THEN there's the typical "oh it's shit" guys who just throw shit over the film cause they "wear stupid costumes" and it's "too long and boring", yet if you ask them if they've seen it, they'll say no, and on ocassions, they'll say "I've read all the shitty reviews"... uhh, what? o.O

I don't actually think I'll see Avatar in a cinema, might be too late, lol, but I WILL buy it on Bluray later this year.

Funnily, the music was the one thing I was not interested in. If you closed your eyes you could swear you were in Titanic. It just sounds "ship like", industrial, as if you are on an epic ocean cruiser powered by steam and sweaty men, if that makes sense. It didn't fit neither military nor magical jungle scenarios very well.

I actually liked the music in Avatar. It was repetitive in places, but I think it did a good job of creating the moods they were looking for. But that's just a personal preference, probably.

I've seen it three times now, twice in 3-D and once without. Every time I see it I analyze a different part of it because it has quite a few elements to it that you just don't catch from seeing it once. The film is indirectly an analysis of dreams, from my perspective, and I find that very interesting.

I've recently seen "Skjult" with a friend. Some random Norwegian horror film. I didn't get it, except a small part of the story.:

saw Paranormal Activity over the weekend. They did a pretty decent job at suspense! I wouldn't say any of it was scary, but then again, very little scares me about scary movies :)
