PS3 vs Xbox 360

Yes bustersword i admit that you have a point there *laughs*
Well PS3 all the way! but, I just want to say that if some game development company makes a game and fills in all that 27 gigs with good stuff and coolness, i will really buy that game... (and the PS3 stealing money from my dad's wallet.
Its just so stupid that my dad won't give me what i want (and my brother), and all my sisters get what they want. The hell i remember seeing the price tag of one of the bags that my dad bought for them its like OMG 2 more of that same bag would buy us a PS3 *laughs with an evil tone*. I feel cheated)

well thats different, its their obligation to give me! And I really needed it, I had to go out with some of my friends and my dad wouldn't give me. Eheheh, does that really count as stealing?

Yeah, it really does, since your dad wouldnt give it to you... *cough* buuuut, we're not here to judge and thats straying from the topic at hand! Back to the death match! I mean... friendly debate =D;;; *coughcough*

I was reading on ff-xiii.net and they mentioned that the game is to be a very long game. Supposed to span over 10 years or something. And that gave them suspicion to believe that they may very well utilize the huge amount of space the PS3's blueray can handle. I can only hope so! A game with beautiful graphics, cutscenes, voice acting, and possibly very long in the process? If so, this is exactly the whole point in having so much space.

They are also rereleasing Advent Children for the blueray. See, there is only so much space you can fit on a DVD, and because of that, you usually have to squeeze it all on the DVD, losing great quality. The graphics wont just be better because of the high definition, but because they wont have to compress the graphics, or at least, not as much.

Really, i have yet to see a single 360 game that is long AND has amazing graphics. Oblivion, dont even try it, the graphics may have been impressive, but I know they can do better too. My point? That is probably why the 360 has yet to release a game more than one disc. Look at all of them! Either long game with okay graphics or short game with awesome graphics. Never anything to fully stock a disc full, like it usually takes RPG genre's to do.

Hollywood and Disney want blueray, and I doubt its JUST because people can't copy them as easily, because they dont have to compress the quality of their movies. At least, this is what i believe. And if the same can be said for games, than you can see the edge the PS3 will have over on them.

Oh, and i heard of a 'possible' price drop by the end of 2007 due to new chip technology in the PS3, or something or the other. Any price drop is good in my book! YEY!

I've always been a Sony fan (and at times a Nintendo fan as well) So my vote goes for the PS3. I happened to accidentely become the owner of one, and I'm pretty impressed with it. I would, however, love to see more games coming out in the future.

wow, ur actually "impressed" by the PS3? interesting. ur the first i've heard to say that. All my friends who had it traded it back in in last than a month. But, then again their all fickle-minded people, so...

360 is better!
*shouts and runs away*

The Xbox 360 has TECHNICAL PROBLEMS
---------------------------------------------------------------

_______________________________________________________
The 360 is has poor reliability, and plus it scratches discs (OMG! They have to beg for Sony and the other company to scratch-proof their DVD discs! AHAHA)
In the tests done, some Xbox 360 systems (equipped with samsung "TSST" dvd players) scratch discs constantly causing games to be unplayable. Although the defect has been proven, Microsoft doesn't want to replace the damaged games (its their responsibility)

The Xbox 360 is the one that was over priced (as previously mentioned that the PS3 was the one)

In Wikipedia as stated

"The Xbox 360 began production only 69 days before launch. As a result, Microsoft was not able to supply enough systems to meet initial consumer demand in Europe or North America. Many potential customers were not able to purchase a console at launch. This lack of availability caused Xbox 360 bundles to sell on eBay at inflated prices; some auctions exceeded US$6,000."
-------------------------------------------------------------------
($6,000 OMG! What the hell? Buy a PS3 its so much better, you could buy a cheap car by that!):-/ -_- -_-

------------------------------------------------------------------

(Drum roll please) The Playstation 3
_________________________________________________________
The PS3 idn't have any thing really bad stated in Wikipedia but more with praises.

The sales of the PS3 in the U.K. broke records as they sold 165,000 units in two days
________________________________________________________
In the publicity section, the PS3 was praised with different comments and basically stated that the PS3 was worth your money and it is a winner:thumb: .

The price of the 60 GB $483 (the cheapest:thumb: ) in Hong Kong
________________________________________________________
The PS3 has a lot of heat escape vent and a big fan and uses heat pipes.
The PS3 power consumption is also controlled with the PS3 automatically correcting power consumption to its needs. Maybe this is why you can heat pie and other stuff!
________________________________________________________
The PS3 has the shock thing in its controllers (remember? the one that got sony sued-_- , i don't know how they got it back though XD ) (personally i don't play games with shock, they break my concentration but for other people they do prefer it. Its a good thing that you could switch it on and off!)
----------------------------------------------------------------
Sony really did work hard on this work of art:# , so its really worth it^_^ . I mean they've been in this business for a long time! They should know better than Microsoft. I mean Microsoft should stay in what they really do, make excellent OSs:thumb:

Any Final Fantasy that is longer than 60 hours is overkill if it's not a MMO. Turn-based systems are tedious, and if from what I read is true, the visuals will take an FF7 turn and have incredibly long, pointless animations.

Oh, and I heard about the price drop. 50 bucks, whoopie.

We may start seeing $50 price drops yearly until the thing is the only logical choice. I REALLY don't see Sony losing.

I, for one, like long RPGs as long as they are good. 60-75 hours is good, but I would not complain about a game that kept my incredibly ADD mind occupied for more than 100. (I recently played through the entire Xenosaga series again. I couldn't do that in a series that wasn't deep as hell.)

Also - Rockstar has said that the 360 is the LCD in the GTA4 development process, because they use up all the disk space. (Apparently this also means the PS3 version will be notably better, due to bigger disks and standard HD's in the systems.)

I'm sure developers (Japanese ones, especially) will find a use for that extra disk space.

Oh, and Kimpoy? The PS3 doesn't have vibration the controllers yet, though they may down the road.

Actually, the cheapest was the 20GB model in Singapore ($312)

And nothing negative on the PS3? You should probably read more carefully.

Wikipedia said:
Todd Howard, the executive producer of Bethesda Softworks, in an interview with Electronic Gaming Monthly magazine, criticized the Blu-Ray drive's read speed for being too slow: "Drive speed matters more to me than capacity, and Blu-ray is slower."

I'd call that negative.

And I'm not denying that the Xbox 360 has flaws or anything (No matter how insanely exaggerated you make them), I'm just saying you should at least be objective when you're trying to deliver some information. You just completely ignored anything negative for the the PS3 and anything positive for the 360. The "the PS3 is better, BETTER!" was particularly biased.

Oh, and I still like the 360 better.

They all aren't great yet, because none of them have great games yet. I have the wii, and you honestly can't bash it until you've played it. It's just FUN -- that's what a game is supposed to be. I might be biased, though, because I'm in college, and I use it more with a bunch of people than by myself. That and Guitar Hero, for Playstation 2.

Those games are interactive, but they are hardly novelty items. They make the games more fun, and because of that, I consider the Wii the best. Once 360 and ps3 come out with some good games (Halo 3, FF13) then we can have this talk again. Til then, the Wii is the most fun, and therefore best, console out there.

Dude, FFXIII is supposed to not have the whole random battle thing. You'll pretty much be able to run up to the enemies. And the battles are supposed to be action packed and fast. Where you can unleash different chains of combos and its different pretty much everytime. Like you can choose to attach then cast Fire and then do an uppercut, for example.

And dude, I am paying $60 for each game. They better damn well be more than 60 hours! The whole REASON I mainly buy RPGs, is they have a tendency to hit past 60 hours. There are few games I'll buy that don't take me 40+ hours to beat. And then another additional 20+ hours to master.

I want my dang money's worth!

Oh, and 50 bucks IS a big deal. What 600 to 550? Where the Xbox360 (normal one, w/ 20 gig harddrive) is 400? For a far superior system, i dont see the big deal of paying an extra 150 bucks for 40 more gigs of memory and FREE online. And sure, the 360 has another one coming out with 120 gigs and the HDMI that should have been included in the first place (PS3 already had that) which is going to be 475. The difference in price is suddenly getting smaller and smaller... 360 go up, PS3 go down. Hmm...

I hate to say this, because I do love Nintendo, but they dont have a single game on the Wii yet that I have enjoyed. And yes, I hated LoZ for the Wii as well. The gamecube version was far more fun. My friend got the Wii for Christmas, and hasnt played it since Janurary because he is still waiting for at least ONE decent game to come out on it. Which doesnt seem to be anytime soon.

Still waiting for at least one system, ANY system, to release at least one decent game... *sigh*

The Wii is the weakest console ever, I got so bored of it I didn't even finish playing Zelda on it, really at the end of the day it's nothing more than a novelty and it got old on me really fast and it's only a matter of time before others get bored of it's boring gameplay.

They tried to get away from performing crazy moves by just clicking a button and instead you end up performing crazy moves by ever so slightly moving your wrist... wow, now that's a revolution.

Super Paper Mario was fun!

For, you know, 10 hours.

And what that guy said about Blu-ray speed is a complicated subject. Blu-ray has a constant read speed while DVD is variable (It reads parts of the disk faster - that's why they pad disks) and when you average it out, unless your sectors are really well optimized on the disk, the difference in speed is much less. Not to mention that I believe having double layered DVDs makes it even more complicated.

Justs something to think about.

Oh wow, so no loading screens then, huh? That makes it even more tedious. At least you got to look at a pretty particle effect before each battle. Transitions have always been cool for me. However, I don't care that you can combine your attacks, it's still turn-based, and therefor, tedious. The reason I can put in 150+ hours into Tales games is because they are just simply FUN. There are so many ways to fight, so many interesting characters, and battle systems that just get you HOOKED. And they make it worth it too (Example, in Tales of the Abyss, if you get to the second playthrough, you unlock a whole new set of Mystic Artes and Extensions. Examples:Luke's Radiant Howl going into "Ion", Jade's Indignation, and Tear's Fortune's Ark.) FF has yet to make me want to replay it (Not counting 12).

And 50 bucks isn't a lot coming down from 600. 200 is a lot for a system alone, 550 is still as ridiculous as 600.

God you make me feel like your type are the reason I never see Vagrant Story 2 or Gitaroo Man 2, etc. Always about these hyped up games.

The PS3 needed faster loading times because the loading on all their other consoles sucked.
The PS3 is incredibly similar to the Xbox 360! I was really surprised. It explains why the waited so long to release the console. So they could open up the 360 and steal most of it's interiors.
The PS3 is the most unoriginal console to date. The only new thing is it's blue-ray, which is needed to speed up the PS3's processing speed.
PS3 has web browser, Xbox 360 doesn't. The idea of a web browser for PS3 started after Wii opera was announced :-/
(Have you heard that they're having some kind of person simulator? Just like the Wii Miis!)

360 is much better. It isn't losing so much money like the PS3, and Microsoft haven't fired their lead designer or cut unit shipment amounts. Now PS3 lovers will argue back saying: It's because Sony made it cheaper than what it's worth! They only did that to gain sales, and managed to lose customers because the price was still pretty high.
Stop being such twats and admit that the PS3 is failing. Silly fan-boys.

PS3's logo/font stole the spiderman movie's logo/font! Google spiderman 3 logo font and you'll get pictures of the PS3! loool

I was watching an advert for some racing game, I was thinking: The graphics are awful, must be for the Wii. At the end of the advert it said: Playstation 3 and I was laughing for about 10 minutes before playing Wii sports.
(GTA is no-longer a Play Station special, it's coming out on Xbox as RockStars main campaign.)

The air around the PS3 heats up because it's cooled very efficiently with heatpipes and fans. This means the INSIDE is cool. The inside is kept cool, quietly. The 360 on the otherhand runs just as hot, and is noisy as all hell.

I beg to differ, my first PS3 overheated and froze within half an hour of me setting it up. I bought another one within the week, and it kept freezing between tabs (don't know why this is), if you've actually looked at the design of the PS3 interior, it's cooling method is very insufficient.

Sony have since replaced the PS3, and the new one works almost flawlessly.
