PS3 vs Xbox 360

I would choose Wii out of both of those consoles, but if I was to pick one of those 2 consoles, I would probably pick PS3, just to try out a few games.

Sorry, I had to do it. :P

I know for a fact that the 360 is not THAT temperamental. Either your dad got a faulty one, or he didn't just "tap" it.

Dude, i was sitting RIGHT there when he barely touched the thing. It didnt even MOVE! Next thing we heard was "ERRRRRRRRRRRR!!!" and the disc was ruined (and man if you saw how deep those scratches were...). My two friends and sisters boyfriend who have a 360 says theirs has done the same thing at one point or another when they barely touched it ^_~

Its also been known to do that. Which i found out later...

Yeah, you don't bump or move 360s with disks in the drive, it's a BAD idead.

I had to rebuy Ninety-Nine Nights because of it. Why did I rebuy that fairly mediocre game? I dunno.

As far as the libraries of the two systems go, this really comes down to personal taste. Obviously, the 360 is bound to have more good games simply because it's been out for forever at this point. I own the only 4 games I ever thought were worth owning on it, and those are Gears of War, Crackdown, Dead Rising, and The Outfit.

At the same time, I have every game I want on the PS3, and that's four games too! Oblivion (Which I also have for PC, I should confess, but I bought it because it looks best on PS3, and even though I hated it on PC, figured I would try it again. It worked! Now I'm addicted.), Resistance, Motorstorm, and Tony Hawk's Project 8 (I know this game is actually a crappy port of the 360 version, but I had my PS3 first and wanted games!).

(Make note that I disliked Lost Planet (bought it, sold it), and Viva Pinata (Demo sucked))

So, while I should realistically tip my hat to my 360 collection, the future games on the PS3 far outweigh the 360's future games. Sure I want Dead Rising 2, Mass Effect, and a handfull of others - and I will, or course, buy them, but I would trade every single one of them for the chance to play FFXIII. Even if it sucks. I'm serious. I'm also a Metal Gear fan, and ratchet and clank fan. Hell, Sony makes much better games than Microsoft. (I've made my feelings about Halo pretty clear, and the more I see of Halo 3 the more nausiated I am about the responce to it.)

I'm happier with my 360 at the moment, but I'm happier about the future of my PS3.

To back up what was said about Gear of War, it's a fun game, sure - the first time through the campaign. I'm not big on online, except with the occassional MMO and The Outfit.

Oh, and did I mention the PS3 cures diseases? 17 work units completed on Folding@Home, baby!

Haha, we're fans of the same games... the main reasons i want a PS3 are for FFXIII and Metal Gear Solid. I also love and own every Ratchet and Clank game. They just own, any way you look at them. And a great escape from the norm!

And you hit a very important point; the future games. I am as fully aware of the games that are out now as many people are. And none of them really impress me or give me anything. Its the future games I am looking forward too. I always look forward to what is to come, not what is out now (at the start, that is). And the PS3 is the only system that seems to be offering anything in the future. The 360, just looks like its going to die after its five minutes in spot light. But, only time will tell ^^

ANd is Oblivion really that big of an improvement on the PS3? I know, personally, I didnt get into it when my friend got it for the 360. I pretty much just tossed it aside. I was also wondering about the differences between the PS3 and 360 versions... (technical side, that is, not simply added goodies and extras)

Why would you even want Oblivion for a console instead of for a PC...? The very point I see in that game is the bloody mods. I'd almost go so far as to say the game is only redeemed by its mods. But you know, the game isn't that bad by itself (far, far from my taste however).

Also yes, if you move things that have discs spinning very fast, depending on the electronics, it'll damage the disc. The 360 seems pretty susceptible to this, but you know, I don't like moving anything while it's got stuff spinning inside it. Like picking up your computer while trying to play Oblivion for instance. Not a good idea.

XBox 360 folks! The X360 for several reasons that I (me) favor:
-X360's controller can be hooked up to your computer
-X360's controller is firm and solid (excellent durability)
-X360 Live is truly the best multi-player online
-X360's accessories are cool
-Games to come: Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Lost Odyssey, Spider Man 3, CRASH of the Titans, Dark Sector, Fable 2,
-X360 is a sexy machine vs. PS3 is big and heavy w/ some sexiness...

Actually, Ninja Gaiden Sigma is coming out for the PS3.

So is Dark Sector ^_^

As for Oblivion, the graphical improvements over the 360 are mostly in relation to draw distance, but I undertand there are other differences as well. It looks retardedly better than the PC version (I went back to play it on PC with everything maxed out and... bleh)

Dark Sector is on the 360 as well tho. Ninja Gaiden Sigma looks to be strictly on the PS3 (altho I'm sure they'll end up making it for the 360 as well... hopefully)

Ugh... I need a PS3. Not just 'cause I'm a Sony fan. It's just that I would like to see how it actually plays and its really worth all that money.

:)

First of all, if size doesn't matter tell me why game sizes are getting bigger by the day, by the minute, by the release, by the month, by the year?

I aslo agree that the PS3 will be dead if Sony keeps sitting like a duck and doesn't make its marketing department work better! I believe console-exclusive games give an edge to a console! (that statement however doesnt mean that i have turned against by me PS3 faith, but i just want sony to realize this! I can't act blind, I seriously see that Xbox360 is doing better, why? because they have exclusive games! The PS3 is wasting its excellent capabilities by making people wait and get on the down by letting the developers release the games other than the PS3. [This might be a compromise on budget but it can boost sales if you make the first step!])

Youre right Draken PS3 is worth what youre paying for!

Well, I have yet to see a single 360 game on more than one disc, so apparently the HD-DVD thing is working out pretty well right now.

Well that is "right now"... (grins). AHAHAHAHA
nothing...

Yep. In the meantime, I'll just save $20 per disc while not losing any used space.
