I'm disliking the serious performance issues that exist at the moment. My FPS is even more awful than before, so far as to be called unplayable.

I really wish I had a better graphics card so I could fully enjoy the game.. But since that's nothing I can fix since I have a laptop, I'll just patiently wait for Notch to patch the new performance issues.

Isaac are you playing on an alpha world? I've noticed that there is significantly less lag on a world generated during beta than an old world from alpha.

On the day of the beta release, I had terrible performance. But after the next day patch, I also noticed newly generated worlds had significantly less lag. Things are a lot better now.

fyi: the game's not very video card intensive; it's cpu intensive. if it's lagging to shit, unless you're using the mobo's on-board video or a vid card from like 2001, you're going to want to upgrade the cpu 1st

It's because of the crappy standard built-in video card that came with my laptop. It uses up a lot of my CPU, but it never actually maxes it out.

Finally complete.

I found a monster spawner underground and made a little water system that floats the mob down stream into a water chamber where it slowly drowns it. Then the drop is delivered right to the player's feet. Unfortunately, the two spawners I found today were both for spiders, and it doesn't really work correctly for spiders since they're so damn agile. Regardless, after much frustration, I managed to jury rig one. Spider spawns, spider drowns, drop floats down to you. And it's just hella fun to marvel at.

I found a Spider Spawner so what i did was make a room with flowing water. Then what I did was put cacti every other space. When the spider would go and attack you, the would catch onto the cactus and die. Then the silk would flow out in front from the water.

Also, if there is a stack of three blocks next to a sapling, it almost always grows into a larger tree.

We will also change the license to remove the line that promises all future versions of the game for free. Please note that this change only affects people who buy the game after December 20, so if you got the game for during alpha, you will still get all future updates for free, despite this change. A promise is a promise.
Buying the game during beta will include all updates up until release, of course, and bug patches will be free.

I built a bunch of stuff a while ago on a SMP server with friends. Like this:

Lighthouse, iron boat, and mystery beach lava thing not made by me.

I had other stuff as well, like a massive underground city built around a deep lava pit and a huge glass tower, but no good pics atm. These days I amuse myself with FancyPack in single-player until SMP gets nice and straightened out. Currently I'm constructing an elegant chateau on a cliff overlooking the ocean.

Wow, that's pretty amazing. I'm hoping to make a treehouse but I don't think mine will be as epic as that huge one.

My first shelter was a hole dug into the side of a hill, then quickly sealed, lit, and given an entrance via a door placed in the wrong orientation. However, I ended up digging the whole thing out and turning it into a skyscraper. The entire hill is gone at this point.

So I'm in the process of making my house bigger, I'm just going to build off it I think, make it taller and take up more room, add MORE lights to it... etc. etc.

Do whatever your mind can imagine. Mine is built on top of a mine, the first floor containing storage, crafting, etc., the second floor containing an indoor swimming pool, and the third floor containing a treasury, tree farm, and a mine cart area that quickly takes you down to the depth of my mine. You can take a peek at my save if you want some inspiration. :biggrin:

Well here's a picture of what I have so far, it's four stories tall, and then the roof area. All I've got in it is a crafting box and a chest on the bottom floor, and steps to take you to each floor ofcourse, well, first to second is a set of stairs, then from the second to roof, it's a spiral staircase, lol.

I've also got a pretty big mine near the beach, that I've marked with a 10 block high dirt mound filled with torches so I always know where to find it, it's like a maze in there! But I find all the stuff I need so it's great.

Also, as you can see to the right of the house, I've got a "tree farm" myself, lol.
