and here's how my keep looks now from the side:

Oh, I just noticed something. Peri, I hope you're not the one responsible for those wheat farms, because I would have expected something far more efficient out of you. I mean, water will travel farther than just one square when you till soil, and, even if it didn't, that would still mean that you could have two rows of dirt between each row of water, instead of just one.

Actually, I have a map so huge that it crashes Cartograph, which means that I have to use an alternative map software, that I don't like nearly as much. The folder is about 250 MB.

candle that's flippin brilliant, though I see your castle and I raise you:

Yeah I didn't actually make this but I thought it was too fantastic to not show yous who've not seen it yet.
I tend to get a bit bored playing it and just end up faffing around.

All those screenshots made me buy the game!

Behold, my shitty shelter.
A cavern with some tower thing in front of it and a WIP ladder to the top of the mountain ~

This game is awesome!
(btw, is there any way you can make the music loop? It gets awfully quiet sometimes...)

no. i just run my own music in the background.

i'm really annoyed that my keybindings are erased every time i boot it up, though. seriously, why does notch think i is a good key for the inventory. yeah, inventory starts with i, but when all the other keys used fit perfectly with wasd, e becomes the much better choice.

Try selecting multiplayer and connecting to a random IP address. (Doesn't even have to be a legitimate server, much less connect to anything) That usually fixes the error regarding keybindings resetting.

Open minecraft, and go to the texture menu. Open the texture folder, then go up one level, to the .minecraft folder. From there, go into the Resources folder, then into the music folder. Copy the three files found there to a more convenient location, and open and loop them in your media player of choice.

So this is going to sound stupid, but how do I use these texture packs exactly? I downloaded one, plopped it in the directory, but it didn't appear on the list... amidoinitrite?!

Consult the readme in the pack's .zip/.rar file. Texture packs above certain dimensions are considered HD and need something called MCPatcher to install properly. Everything you need to do should be in the pack's readme or on their website.

Ah I see, I can't be arsed messing around with that, so I'll just use some of the normal texture packs, lol.

Also, I remember in the free version and in Alpha (I didn't play Alpha but I know people that did), you could make a spawn point by pressing Enter, but we can't do it in Beta? That's gay because I've just made a compass and was hoping to set a spawn point in my house so I could go exploring and always know the way home... I've never traveled too far from my home, lol.

Why not construct a giant lighted tower on your home so you can always find it? That works for most people. And I don't recall ever being able to change my spawn point. Maybe that was in the outdated online client?

I only ever used the webclient for the free version anyway (Don't think you could download it), and yeah I've made a giant lighted tower, but I decided to stray away from it, and it was very hard to point out in the distance, so going any further would make it harder. I was hoping I could use my compass to find my house, but it takes me back to where I first ever started, which is miles away, lol.
