Minecraft: post what's in your mine

Awesome Bro

All the mods I've ever worked with point out in their readme's that you need to delete the META-INF folder in minecraft.jar. The only mod I use is better grass/better lighting, though some people swear that Fancypack is a necessity.

Another neat mod to mess around with is the BiomeTerrainMod, but I haven't tried using it in Minecraft Beta. It's worth a shot though, because it can really spice up your randomly generated worlds.

Whether or not you need to delete the META-INF folder varies a bunch between mods, and will always be mentioned in a Readme if that is the case. In most of the mods I've used lately, Modloader has made all the necessary changes.

Yeah, Betterlight and Bettergrass are simply beautiful. Fancypack is also quite excellent - it's hard to believe the guy who makes it started on a whim with a mod construction pack, working out of very little prior experience. It's grown to become something really incredible in a short amount of time.

Make sure you're playing so you can at least somewhat hear the sounds so you'll no when to get the fuck out of there.

There are mods for creepers, but the only one I've seen makes them explode into about 100 flaming arrows that shoot up into the sky. True story, bro.

Oh, mawk, how does that compilation mod pack work with texture packs? And is better grass/lighting included?

Fancy Pack is really cool it definitely spruces up your stuff if you are into that kind of stuff. I use it. It also comes with some very useful updates and changes as well.

Biome Terrain is a neat mod

Kings Mods add a whole bunch of new crafting and stuff

Mo's creatures adds a bunch of different NPC's along with horse training it is a really cool mod that is worth getting up

There are other smaller mods around the forums. I use a mod that lets me put stuff underwater like tracks and torches and stuff for the sake of convenience

There is a whole bunch of stuff just find stuff that fits your needs

The only problem is that beta seems to be updated a lot more than alpha and once it updates all old mods dont work. This has also created a gap in mods. Before, everyone would be up to date but now it is sort of a pain to get the exact mods you want as updates are all over the place. Thats why you dont want to update minecraft really unless you are sure you want to.

Im still in beta 1.02 so oh well~

Honestly I think the mod API is the least of his concerns at the moment and it will probably appear right before he finishes it~

Mods are cool by the way they got me back into minecraft and they really add to the experience 10 fold

When I get back, I’ll finish up the new launcher, then my goal is to get some early sketch of the Modding API out before GDC.
Can't wait for 1.3 this week!

It's kind of obvious that he hacked in materials, but it's still pretty damn cool.

Maybe I'm not just understanding it right, but I can't seem to figure out how install mods without fucking up the game client. Anyone have any experience with this?

Most of modders give the way to install their mods.
But as i know, Mods have to be installed by 'Minecraft.jar' in 'bin' folder modified,
and most of the time, the 'META-INF' inside the jar file must be deleted.

Otherwise mod will not work or game will just give a black screen after logging in.

And if you want to build something huge without worrying about items,
I suggest you to use 'Console Command Mod', which allows you to earn any items you want,
and modify other settings which is useful to remember the place, or survive, and etc.

If you want to get rid of the nasssssssssssssssty side effect of creeper death, there's a mod called CreeperNerf that can disable block destruction when creepers explode. It also has the ability to do the same for TNT, which is more useful as an anti-griefing measure on servers. You can find it here, though it appears to be a hey0 mod, which may or may not cause trouble for you.

i set my difficulty to peaceful when im building stuff outside and dont want to bothered~

creepers arent that bad i dont get why everyone hates them but oh well
i personally think spiders are the worst thing ever made

but i did find a spider spawner and made and infinite silk machine~
