Favorite anime(s)?

Only one other person said both Azumangadaioh and Chobits! Blasphemy! JK, but I thought they would be more popular. Those are my faves, btw.

My list:

Karin
Chobits (on recommendation from a friend)
full moon wo sagashite (also on recommendation)
FLCL
Dirty Pair
Cowboy bebop
Akira
a kite
mezzo forte
ah my goddess, series and movie
chrono crusade
shakugan no shana (also by recommendation)

Anything that notes recommendation is especially good in my eyes, as i've been recommended many animes over the years.

Ergo Proxy
Chobits
Fruits Basket
Hellsing
Mezzo Forte
School Rumble
Fate/Stay Night
Mai Hime
Mai Otome
Full Metal Alchemist
Full Metal Panic
Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad

Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo/Le Comte De Monte Cristo
Noein
Ergo Proxy
FL CL
Grave of the Fireflies
Elfen Lied
Turn A Gundam
Witch Hunter Robin
Escaflowne
Gundam X
Anything Gundam so long as it's in the UC(universal century. In other words, stay the hell away from SEED. Wing and G are okay....)

I've also ordered:
Gundam: Char's Counterattack(UC Gundam)
Gundam: War in the Pocket(UC Gundam)
Neon Genesis Evangelion

Manga:
Trigun/Trigun Maximum
Hellsing
Deathnote(I've seen a bit of the anime, it's quite good. However, I'll stick to the manga. However, the music is freaking awsome... not half as good as Gankutsuou's though....)

Gankutsuou is the only really worthy anime from Studio GONZO. A shame they changed the end, though. Fafnir, if you're into mecha (and you pretty much seems to be), you'll be...surprised by Neon Genesis Evangelion.

And there's gonna be a sequel to Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan. I'm not sure the world needed it...

Well...

Nodame Cantabile
Rozen Maiden
Chobits
Naruto
Fullmetal Alchemist
Full Moon wo Sagashite
Nana

These are my favourite!

I actually liked Gankutsuou's ending. Although not exact with the book(far, far from it to be exact), it was well done. It shows that you can deviate from the source material and still be good. Not to mention, that since it's from Albert's point of view, if they ended it like the book, there'd be alot missing.

Cowboy Bebop
Outlaw Star
Kenshin
Berserk
X
DBZ
Ronin Warriors
Afro Samurai
Paprika

I'm in the minority but I don't watch a lot of anime.

What I've seen of Full Metal Alchemist is brilliant.

I've seen Akira, Grave of the Fireflies, Spirited Away, and Princess Mononoke and liked them all.

My favorite 'anime' if it can be considered one would be Lupin the Third, though.

Mhm... I like so many animes...

1. Serial Experiments Lain - awesome story with an amazing soundtrack.
2. Read or Die (R.O.D.) TV and OVA - I just love the idea of manipulating paper, and Yomiko and her crew are simply cool.
3. Darker than Black - relatively new anime
4. Ghost in the Shell SAC + 2nd Gig - Tachikomas rock!
5. Revolutionary Girl Utena - yeah, I know it's really OLD, but still one of my alltime favourites, underrated in my opinion as well
6. Fruits Basket - I have to cry at nearly every episode
7. Noein - mostly because of it's unique artstyle and it's story
8. dot.Hack//Sign - really interesting idea of not being able to log out

Well that's all that came into my mind... But there are a lot more.

Take care

Actually, it was originally created by marvel. However, there are some Japanese series of Transformers.
I suppose if you wanna get technical, their true origins came directly from the Japanese studio Takara's Diaclone "Car Robots" and Microman "Microchange" toy lines. =) If they were never created, Transformers G1 wouldn't have came about in the way that it did.

The cartoon was a Hasbro & Sunbow production (American), but the animation was Japanese (Toei/Takara). G1 was meant for America, but it was dubbed and aired simultaneously in Japan as well. When it ended in America, the Japanese animation studios kept going with it (Headmasters/Masterforce/Victory).

I am now enjoying some classic episodes of Sailer Moon. The animation is so cheeky and cute, but the stories are filled with suspense and drama, as well as comedy. with it all revolving around the most non-intentionally sexy anime teenager who once graced the minds of eight year old geek girls.

*sigh*, these days the common anime is Naruto, which, if it continues to go strong, may one day be as classic as this. Except it has to end to become classic.

I hope your sarcastic. You've never seen/heard of the original Japanese version otherwise.
