I'm too cheap to expand my interests beyond cable television, but here goes:

- The Boondocks. I'm going to have to agree with Dyre on this one.

- Dragonball Z, although the manga was far better. There were far too many tedious portions of the show. I mean, it was 20 minutes until Goku reached Namek, but then it spanned over a million episodes. Also, a fake Namek? The tuffles? Garlic Jr.? What the hell were they thinking?

- Fullmetal Alchemist
- Rurouni Kenshin, including Samurai X
- Trigun
- Vampire Hunter D

I liked Inuyasha until it never ended and I don't care much for Naruto at all.

Ghost in the Shell bored the hell out of me. I might have liked it back in high school, but like most, that probably would have been because there was a naked chick and a bunch of guns. Or maybe my short attention span is the problem. I heard Akira was pretty foul, but then again, I watch the Boondocks, so that shouldn't stop me from going to see it. Back on topic:

-Venus Wars
I think that's the title. Watched it on the sci-fi channel in third grade. Can't remember much of it, but I remember it being really cool. But then again, I thought that about the 1980's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles until I watched the first few episodes recently. Corny.

Ghost in the Shell, well, that's some animation, but not for everyone since the complexity. Ghost in the Shell, actually taken from Ghost in the machine, and some Rene Descartes ideas.
Akira, complex movie again... far away from fast food animations we get lately.

Well, everyone raved about Akira for years (and they've been talking about a live action movie for 10 years), but 'unfortunately' most people seem to have trouble dealing with complex issues in films. Hence, how some people react to GitS... The series seems to fare much better, due to the way they can spend more time on a detailed story arc than a two-hour movie ever could.

Here goes:
  • The Slayers TV and Novels (the OVAs are... okay. I don't have the mangas)
  • Cowboy Bebop
  • Blood: The Last Vampire. An amazing feature for such a short film. (Memory loss??? Anyone think that the TV series turned Saya into a wimp?)
  • Vampire Hunter D -and-
  • Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust (based on the 1st & 3rd novels... yep, I got 'em)
  • Ghost in the Shell (for what it's worth)
  • Last Exile
  • Dual (when I'm in a silly 'Tenchi Muyo/NGE' Mood)
  • Record of Lodoss Wars (the TV series... was okay. Prefer the original OVA.)
  • 3X3 Eyes (aka Sazan Eyes) (The OVAs, Mini-Series, and Mangas.)
  • Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro (I could almost see Jim Carrey in the role  @_@ )
  • Ninja Scroll (gotta have that in the collection :D )
  • ROD (Read or Die) Both OVA and TV series

Metropolis,
Akira,
Streetfighter II (And Alpha)

They are a good movie, I enjoy watching them.

And for the TV Animes, I like watching Naruto, Bleach.
(My PM box is open to flame mail. :) )

Akira and Ghost in the shell... weird is the fact no one name those animations
Meh
I said both ^_^

Ghost in the Shell doesn't just draw on Descartes, it takes a lot from the kind of thing William Gibson wrote about as well.

I recently watched the first few Chobits... On the one hand, it totally plays into every stereotypical "magical girlfriend" anime theme that you could think off. As well as being deeply perverted, (in a way that makes you think, "I'm really not sure how funny this is"). On the other hand, I find myself strangely addicted to it ^_^

So far I like:

1: FullMetal Alchemist
2: Chrno Crusade
3: Bleach
4: Excel saga :D
5: .hack//SIGN
6: .hack//ROOTS
7: Naruto (had to be in there somewhere)

I've also seen some episodes of:

1: Elemental Gelade
2: Spiral

And think they MAY be worth following,

And I would like to see:

1: Gunslinger Girl
2: Elfen Lied
3: Full Metal Panic! Fumoffu?

Definetly watch Elfen Lied. Really, really good. Just make sure you know what you're getting into first. Not the most kid friendly series out there. If you have to think to yourself about whether you want to watch EL or not, watch it.

Hmm...
  • Akira
  • Ah! My Goddess
  • Flame of Recca
  • Inuyasha
  • Neon Genesis Evangelion
  • Paranoia Agent
  • Furi Kuri
  • D.N. Angel
  • DNA2
  • Lupin the 3rd
  • Fruits Basket
  • Chobits
  • FMA
  • He is My Master

Hmm... I'll have to decide on the rest of my choices later...
