Favorite anime(s)?

Some of my favorite anime:

Bleach: The first time I saw Ichigo go Bankai.... whoa. Plus, I'm curious to see the arrancar arc in animation.

Fullmetal Alchemist: I wasn't too keen on the ending of the series, but I thought the movie was cool. The plot was topnotch. Go SquareEnix.

Samurai Champloo: Oh man. Watanabe kicks so much ass. Samurai Champloo was pretty cool because unlike most anime, there are no filller episodes in this series, rather every episode is like a little saga of it's own which behind it all the overall plot for the search of the Sunflower Samurai still is the basis. Cool ass fight scenes. Mugen rocks.

Cowboy Bebop: I can't mention Samurai Champloo without mentioning Cowboy Bebop can I? Basically the same reasons I loved Samurai Champloo apply to Cowboy Bebop as well. The movie was cool and had one of the coolest fight scenes I've ever seen Spike in.

The Boondocks: Technically not really an anime, but it definentely looks as good as many anime out there. Hilarious show.

Avatar: The Last Airbender: Also not really an anime, Avatar: TLA has one of the most compelling storylines for a freaking Nickelodeon show. Also, the world is gorgeous and amazing.

Also, lately I've submitted to the Naruto madness and actually started watching the anime (original Japanese only, Naruto's english voice is like listening to scratching chalkboards) and I gotta' give an honorable mention:

Naruto: I love all the different characters in this anime, each of them are so unique, unlike the millions of generic characters we see in different shows today. Cool stuff.

Dubs screw over every anime, believe me. Atleast the good ones.
Well Dragonball is an exception. Have you ever heard japanese Goku voice? Even portuguese dub makes a better job!

Goku in a Japanese voice sounds like a girl.

Now, if you seriously want some violent anime watch: Elfen Lied. Watched it last night, it's great. ;)

Akira
Ghost in the Shell
Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence
Ghost in the Shell: SAC series
Ghost in the Shell: Solid State Society
Ninja Scroll
Berserk
Gunslinger Girls

I like DBZ, but its not one of those manga that emphasize on story and thats not why people watch it. People read/watch it to see super powered people have a big fight that destroys nearly all the surroundings.

However, I like the original Dragon Ball more. And the freeza saga is my favorite. Freezas one of the only villains in DBZ that is actually personal to Goku and whose defeat has some meaning for him, not just "OMG Save the World!".

And seeing Vegeta cry was pretty moving...

But, anyway, I just got finished watching Death Note (finally). I'm glad its faithful to the manga. I didn't like the ending as much though, simply because it just sort of..."ends", unlike the manga which states what happens to at least some of the characters.

Still though, good show. And even better music.

Even though I knew what would happen, the chase scene with Higuchi still had me on the edge of my seat...partly thanks to the awesome music

Fullmetal Alchemist: I wasn't too keen on the ending of the series, but I thought the movie was cool. The plot was topnotch. Go SquareEnix.

I agree. I'm currently reading the manga, and I like it a lot better.

I've recently heard of an anime called "Monster" and I want to watch it. Can anyone who has seen it tell me how it is?

There's something about really popular anime series. Most of the time, I think they're crap. Well anyway, my top 3 anime series:

1. Ichigo 100% (One word: Strawberries!)
2. I, My, Me! Strawberry Eggs (got me into the anime series, so it deserves a spot)
3. Tokimeki Memorial: Only Love (Hmm, I just liked it... can't think of anything to say here :D)

Yeah, they're all romance.

Well currently CLANNAD, Gurren Lagann, Hellsing Ultimate and D.Grayman which started to get interesting again.

BTW yay for Nel Tu (bleach) ^^

Well, Here goes...

1)Pokemon(Fan of the pokemon video games, that's why)
2)Rurouni Kenshin(samurais are in my blood) 8)
3)Final Fantasy Unlimited(J) [weird huh? I wish they could complete it  :'( ]

I don't really have a favourite anime, or sort.
However, I would like to highlight the series; Baccano! . Crazy, yet rather well-crafted little series. Recommended even to those who dislike anime, but enjoy pulp-fiction in general.

  • I would've guessed!  :D
    • FLCL
    • Cowboy Bebop
    • Paranoia Agent
    • Sailor Moon

That last one is on there, because it was the first anime I ever watched. Meaning that the nostalgia factor makes it actually bearable to watch.  ;D
