What Tutorials Do you Need?

I need a tutorial on how to make a quest box that can appear, when pushing a button... Also I need the box to allow you to accept or quit quest.....

Hi everybody! I have a little doubt. How I can do a movement to climb diagonal stair, only pressing for sides buttons non diagonal? There is some way to do that?

hmm this thread is odd lol the link to page 19 is broken :S it just keeps coming back to page 18 lol just thought i should mention that :)
yeah a mapping tutorial i would love to see is how to map a ship lol
i just cant seem to get to grips with it as it always looks odd lol i cant seem to get the edges to line up :S i cant find any tuts for this lol
thousands for forests and houses but alas no avail on this :S
 
I'm looking for a tutorial on how the character can leave a room and come back to it, without anything changing.
I've searched for a turtorial on this to no avail.

Ok, I need another tutorial. I don't know how anyone figured this stuff out.
I'm having trouble with Conditional Branches.
It was my understanding that these were sort of "if" "then" variables.
Example: If Self Switch A is on then battle this. In not then battle this. That sort of thing. Am I correct and, if so, why aren't they working correctly. If I'm wrong, than what is Conitional Branches?
 
a conditional branch grants an alternative to the original provided the given circumstances are present.
like a trigger could be if an item is present you could battle a zombie,
if not then you could battle a ghost if that makes sense
 
Hey everyone...
I need a totorial where a party member leaves the party and after a couple of chapters later in the game the party member joins the party again with the same level.

I know i could you some party changing scripts, but i haven't found a simple party changing script that i could operate because i have no clue on how to use scripts like party changers.

Anyway thanks in advance...

My current project :

Title : Unkown (can't come up with a good title...)
story : 100%
maps : 100%
scripts : 0%
resources : 100%

When re-adding the character into the party un-check the "initialize" box.
Obviously, it causes the character to "initialize" to their starting level, and stats.
By unchecking it, the event will recognize the characters previous level, stats, and skills, before the first removal of that character.

Ok, so this would mean that if a letter is in your inventory than you'd battle 2 ghosts, otherwise you's battle 2 harpys. Is that correct?

yeah im pretty sure thats right lol if you set it to happen on player touch then delete the event after the battle that way once its been defeated it will disappear :)
 
I'm a huge noob... I don't know if I'm supposed to post here, or what but... I want to know how to make it so after I defeat the guy in the dungeon, get the crystal (cliche I know) and get teleported back to the begining the chests and items are gone... similar to rajaat99's prob... then I want a new event that allows my char to go to a new area and new act... I know NOTHING... HELP ME PLEEEEEAAASSSEEEE!!!!! I am sooo lost... gah!
 
I have good experience in mapping and events, have good imagination for nice stories and all, but my only problem in making a game is my lack of knowledge to balance battles, i don't know what each stat does (exactly) so my battles end up beeing unbalanced. I'd like to see a tutorial on how to write a good database to make the battles playable.

This would fall under mapping with RTP I suppose.....
I need a tutorial on how to make the log cabin in the RTP a sideview, where you actually enter from the side.....
I've tried to do this several times, but everything I come up with sucks, and you guys are amazing at creating maps.....I can't get the roofing right or anything when I try to make a sideview house.....

I also agree with Pete.....
I experience problems with what exactly the stats do: for insance[ what exactly is dexterity for in this program!? Defense or something.....And how come they have dexterity, and then physical attack and stuff on the skills.....
I'm confused, lol.....
 
I need a totorial/script to make the screen black after the player starts a new game. The Point of this is to hide the map the player is currently on and show text about the story and the pictures to present the intro 'movie'...

I don't know how to describe this... but ill try

Player starts game
screen goes black (so player does not see the map...)
my avatar picture shows for about 5 secounds
scrolling text... and on on
then screen becomes normal and player sees the map and character...

I hope that helps. Get what i mean? Need a totorial or a small script for that...

start position should be a blank map, your hero's initial charset should be none (yes none), then when your game should start just alter the charset of your hero through an event
