What is so wrong with homosexuals? I mean really?

actually its a pretty standard misconception that the bible doesnt like homosexuality, read it again sometime what it actually says is, is that sodomy is wrong, so i guess as long as you dont like the bumlove its all square with god, then again not being a christian that doesnt refelct my view at all, personally i think a persons sexuality (whether it be hetero, hmo or bi) shouldnt be either hidden nor pushed upon people, do what you wonna do, jus dont expect me to care, you make your choices in life, you gotta deal with the good and bad

what

I haven't read the Bible but I've seen passages than condemn homosexuality pretty badly. Google got me this. Only crazy people take that word for word though.

Also, it mentions honoring the sabbath and adultury about 200 more times. I guess people dont notice that. I've never honored the Sabbath cus, you know, OLD TESTIMATE? Doesnt apply to the modern world. But apparently a small line in Genesis still applies to the modern world because people like to justify their disguist for things not like them.

as you said the bible is pretty open to interpretation the passages in that link though only describes sex (or at least being sexual) with some1 of the same sex, which in itself is largely irrelevent to being a homosexual (unless you are a slut, n im pretty sure the bible isnt down with that regardless)

It also says that Marriage is to be between a man and a woman (Genesis 2:21-24; Matthew 19:4-6) and that any one who gives sanction towards the marriage of homosexuals also takes part in that sin. However, God’s forgiveness is just as available to a homosexual as it is to an adulterer, idol worshipper, murderer, thief, etc. God’s love and desire to save extends to homosexuals (John 3:16; Romans 5:8). God also promises the strength for victory over sin, including homosexuality, to all those who will believe in Jesus Christ for their salvation (1 Corinthians 6:11; 2 Corinthians 5:17).

So in the end, fuck the bible, fuck the government, do whatever the fuck you want.

I love how you actually had a viable, quoted argument that other people could (in an intelligent dicussion) challenge and look up for themselves and pissed it all away with the last sentence to look like an immature little kid, not to mention not even make whichever side you promote or oppose clear. You Speak as if you're supporting the argument that homosexuality is bad (Obviously by going to all the trouble of citing sources within the bible to specific things said towards the subject)...but then the last sentence makes it seem like you just Copied and Pasted it and don't even care if anyone reads it.

*Shrug* Or maybe there's just something I'm not seeing here, but what -was- the point of doing that?

Partly to make it clear that it doesn't matter what your opinion is, someone elses opinion is going to be different, so there is no point in arguing about it.

Partly to show that even the Bible is polarized about whether or not it cares, since it makes it clear that it is a sin, but also makes it clear that like any other sin, it can be forgiven.

And partly because I don't care enough to go back and read my post again after I type it up x_x

To make my point clear though, I'm obviously for being homosexual, being bisexual myself ^^;

I dont think this debate is going anywhere fast, but i will say this. I fully support the lesbian community.... i bought all the magazines, watched all the video's several times (girl on girl volumes #1 - #578, lip lickers 5, Strap-on rug munchers, dont act like you dont know what im talking about) and any1 tht doesnt support something so beautiful, so pure isnt right in the head

Prexus, you forgot a detail, you can do what you want, but you will be saved ONLY in case you do realize what your falt was and ask for forgiveness sinceerly (more or less this is the concept i think...)

I think he was saying the bible is bullshit and you should do what you want.

If this is the case then he is wrong. If everyone does what they want the world will be in turmoil (UH it's already happpening in the world right now). Don't look at the bible as some fantasy book of miricles made by old people, but instead look at it as a guide for a way we should live our lives. If we didn't have rules to stop ourselves from being at each others throats, we will only doom ourselves. Personally I don't believe half the stories in the bible but I feel they do have morals in them that should be considered into how you live your life. Besides, doing bad things leaves a equally bad aftertase when all is said and done unless your just a bad person and get enjoyment out of doing bad things. (I'm not talking about picking on your little brother, I'm talking about killing people and what not.)

No, you're wrong.

First of all, the Bible isn't wrong, its fictional. A set of stories designed to teach us the morals and values that we should live by, and I respect that. The whole Heaven and Hell thing is just there to reinforce the idea that doing the wrong thing has negative consequences, and God is there to represent the human concience and mind, which makes us suffer via guilt and mental anguish for the things we do wrong, and makes us enjoy life when the things we do are good and wholesome.

Secondly, I didn't say you should do whatever you want, regardless of LAW. Governments institute Law to control those of us who would inflict harm upon others, and introduce penalties to those that disregard them.

Yes, and I like it. Post more, good sir!

If we didn't have rules to stop ourselves from being at each others throats, we will only doom ourselves
But this is not dependent on the Bible. I think inherent in the statement "We should all do whatever we want" is the condition "As long as it is within certain limits". However, our moral limits do not have to be defined by the Bible. Our moral fundement seems nowadays to be "Thou shalt not inflict suffering on others". Therefore commandments against homosexuality, now that overpopulation is the issue, are progressively becoming less important.
