Welcome to HBGames, a leading amateur game development forum and Discord server. All are welcome, and amongst our ranks you will find experts in their field from all aspects of video game design and development.

What games are you currently playing?

How is the game? Any gripes/things you don't like? Or is it great.

Tbh it looks really fun but it is really expensive so I need your knowledge to make a solid opinion ~

I might get the ps3 version if I can ever get a solid internet connection. The wireless sucks on my ps3 sucks so if I want to download something from the store I have use an Ethernet cable connected through my laptop which is a pain to set up and doesn't always works.

On another note, I'm totally getting Diablo III for the ps3 next month. It's not required to always be online like the pc version, Or so I've heard. Unless it turns out it requires some kind of connection and just not a continuous one. then I'll wait some more.

The only complaint about FFXIV I have so far is that they completely fucked up their EU/NA datacenters. From beta till the end of the early access (which was the reason I pre-ordered) half the people couldn't make characters because of login restrictions.
It looks like it's been fixed now but the last couple of days have been a hell filled with errors and frustration.

That aside, the game itself is great, it looks beautifull and the gameplay is really fun. I've yet to do dungeons (because half my friends couldn't play because of the aforementioned errors) but I imagine that they'll be great as well. Maybe one other thing I don't like: you run into an invisible wall ocasionally. It might sound silly, but when I see a massive cliff I want to jump off it, in this game you'll run into an invisible wall and can't continue. This happens in quite a few spots but I guess that's just nitpicking.

Trying to play Dragon Age: Origins, but lack of big hair, long hair, and cool hair colors is preventing me from roleplaying my original characters. ;_;

I'll probably sit at this screen for a long time, now. ;_;
Good game. Very fun. Beware of getting your hopes up about DA2.

I'm playing Final Fantasy XIV right now since y'know, it's great lol, I got the collector's edition so I've been looking through the art book too, it's pretty cool.
All I really remember about FFXIV was that it got just horrendous, horrific reviews when it came out. But maybe it got better since then. Good to know you enjoy it.

Ven, I've seen Star play DA2. I liked it. :X

I'm playing DA:O, so I can play DA 2, then use all choices for DA3. >>

Though I made a character based on one of my own, and well...

I GAVE HER THE WRONG HAIR COLOR.

I'm kind like... O_O I almost want to start over for accuracy purposes, but I should live.

I got Alistair to like me, so thus... I should be happy, right? :D

Gosh dang it. Why would they announce a Diablo 3 expansion right before the ps3 release? I mean, the ps4 is right around the corner and they've already mention porting it to that too. So how likely will both console versions get to see the next chapter, or two chapters as people are certain there'll be another expansion following this one. Fine, I'll get PC version. I don't know why I though expansion packs were a thing of the past.

The editor for gunpoint allows for some player made designs. However, gunpoint's issues will shine through anyway, ie, it's kinda an easy game in general. It's p great, though.

I'm play game dev tycoon. It's.... alright. Feels like the RNG factors are high beyond combining FANTASY with RPG for example.

The customization in terms of how your character looks is kind of limited. You have ability to change a lot of things (especially around the face) but instead of sliders or free customization they have 2-4 preset options for each thing. I didn't like any of the hairs and there were only 4 different beards. I think the customization options change for each race differ so the options for the cat people might be different than the human features.
I still haven't found a twin yet.

I'm only level 13 so I haven't gotten to the meat of the game. Right now it's really a typical mmo like Warcraft. There is a combo system (use a specific attack after a specific attack) but it isn't ground breaking.
I think it'll get better once I learn a few more classes. Right now I am a gladiator and I just got the ability to change classes.
I really like the class system.

The quests are typical kill stuff but its not as horrible as WoW. I still think GW2 has the best variety of quests. But there is always something to do and its not hard to find quests. I haven't had to grind enemies. I also like how it's really easy to accumulate exp. the game throws bonuses at you a lot.

Summary: it's a good game but sometimes it lacks originality. And it lacks voiced dialogue so be prepared to read.

Awesome Bro

Yeah, the character customisation isn't amazing, but I like how there's sub races, even if it is only two for each race, and each one starts with slightly different stats, lol

And some story cutscenes have voice acting by the way :thumb:
