This was my problem with Resident Evil 4. And that everyone were saying it was the best in the series (even those who did not play/like the originals...). Sure, great amazing game. But its NOT Resident Evil.Venetia":2s0q13n9 said:
I've been playing some Evoland, LoL and Archeblade. In fact I love Archeblade, its an alpha-stage game that you can play for free from Steam. I'm not sure how you would explain what it is... kind of like a properly 3D Soulcaliber kinda of game? You move in all 3 dimensions, third person, no side-scrolling. But it has its different characters, its combos, its blocks and stuff. Skill ceiling through the roof, but yeah.
I'm actually playing dragon age 2 right now and more disappointing than bad. Main protagonist is absolutely boring except for maybe sarcasm hawke. After that, Merrill, the elf girl, is actually funny as hell whenever she talks, and the Quanari leader, the Arishok, absolutely steals every scene he is in. Outside of that I don't like anyone - Varric's kinda funny with sarcasm hawke I guess.
Even the deaths suck. What the hell the sibling deaths were absolute trash.
The dialogue wheel sucks ass when compared to origins.
The quests are massively mmorpg'd compared to origins.
The results are all the same for EVERYTHING compared to origins.
The battle system really sucks, imo - 3x more enmies that are 3x easier. Not a good combination for this kinda tactics game.
This entire game sucks compared to origins.
That said it's still meh after spend two whole nights just trying to FINISH THE GODDAMN GAME I'm sorta resigned to just playing it and finishing it. Just.... block out the reused maps. Skip every dialogue except merill, arishok, uh, idk, companions or something. Spend all my time walking around. Right click shit. No puzzles or ANYTHING that matters.

I haven't even played DA2 because of all that I've heard about it; everything I loved about it seems to have been abandoned in DA2; DAO stood itself well among Bioware's library (especially the indisputable superior PC version of DAO, which allows modding and fully utilised the tactical gameplay to its fullest). But what I've seen and heard of DA2, it just seems like a rushed, fantasy-setting Mass Effect. Now this may be blasphemy to some to hear, but I don't care for ME, at all, the entire series.
Gunpoint. Two-three hour puzzle game.
It's great cause it's really polished and everything was done by mostly one guy.
That's also the issue because the puzzles are admittedly quite easy. The editor built in makes for some really amazing replayability + campaigns if anyone wants to get creative.

fyi "console > pc" is not possible ... consoles ARE PCs. they are just configured somewhat differently (hardware + software ... even then, much of it is comparable or the same anyway with modifications) from the average home computer. in the 70's-90's, there were actual differences in the way it accepted and processed data -- nowadays ... Not so much.
the fact that i can use MY gaming machine for EVERYTHING, including games, means it just ... makes more sense. and, technically speaking ... mine does it better, more efficiently, and with nicer graphics, than consoles. the ONLY thing i don't have in my rig is gyroscopic motion detectors in my mouse or whatever. which the non-wii consoles don't really make use of anyway ...

So Gamestop was selling (and probably still is) the Jak and Daxter trilogy collection for $10. I remember playing the original Jak & Daxter years ago so I decided what the hell, and picked it up. HOLY CRAP. Either I'm just horrible at platforming or these games (I'm currently on Jak II as we speak) are incredibly cheap in regards to their layout design. I've died oh so many times because of either poor camera angle or shitty level design. I haven't screamed at my TV the way I screamed while playing certain parts of these games (here's looking at you all vehicle related parts) in a looooong time. Maybe I should take a break lol.
