The whole pretty graphics Vs gameplay doesn't really hold water in this thread, which consists of nothing but pretty screenshots from alot of RMXP games that don't have demos yet.

Considering the thread is made primarily for pretty screenshots aswell...

Besides, I can very well say that the imagery is coming along well (i've seen some of it). And also he is infact using Poser (Aiko3 and Hiro3 to be exact), and the use of Poser figures doesn't degrade the level of quality. Those who have seen the dating sim I was making will know that I too use Poser.

Also, it's a big game, and like all big games you can't simply expect to see a demo anytime soon. ^^"
 
I've seen too many people just use Poser and Terragen to try and make stuff and it usually looks amateurish. Of the small bit that I've seen at least this guy knows how to render with decent lighting and such, but all and all I'd like to see more.

Besides, there isn't much people in this thread can critique on a 3d modelled image. If it's a menu or characterset/scene in RMXP then I think this thread could be more useful (CC-wise.) As far as just showing the image is concerned, I don't think we can say much more than "graphics pretty" and start drooling. :)
 
@Fallstel: I promise you that's the first time you've seen that pic, considering the fact that i took a screenshot of it last night :) (I finally finished the Rumi look :P)

@Ixis: If you look back on the thread, you'll find lots of pictures that show menus, etc..


I'm only waiting for the Battle System to be done (sepirothspawn is scripting it) and as soon as it is, i'll be releasing a demo.
 
Diegoale2000: As someone who is making their game 3D and using 3D cutscenes, I have to say that those graphics are more impressive then anything I have created before. There are very very nice.

Translation, demo something time within the next decade ;)

Gameplay is irrelevant in this thread, but we should always consider it. I mean you don't goto IGN and look at screenshots without wonder "Hmm...I wonder what the gameplay is like." Then, you look for a video on YouTube. Screenshots can only go so far.
 
I'm gonna say this one last time so there's no confusion.

Diego is using Poser 6* and hopefully Vue 6 to create the FMV sequences in his game. The base models he is using are Aiko3 and Hiro3 avaliable at Daz3D.com . Rumi has changed considerably since the last we've seen her (especially her hair, which I helped find =D). The fact that he did not model them from scratch has been mentioned before.

Diego, I suggest that from now on you hold back all the 3D imagery. Considering how many times you've changed your mind (and also how Rumi is currently in the buff), I think it would be best to leave out showing 3D imagery until you have completed and ready to use characters. Besides, showing the final product in a big sparkling dazzled is more wow inducing then showng them everything step by step, ya get what i'm saying? ^^"
 
I've concentrated on Gameplay, I'm working on Baliancing everything, and I;ve made sure to keep the game from having the Average RPG feel.
I've changed the way things work in most of the game, and I've made sure to add a lot of depth in every aspect possible.
I've made NPCs that engage in conversations that are longer, and not "welcome to [generic town name here]"
I've made sure that the world is as realistic as possible, items have Full descriptions, art, etc. nothing is left to be guessed when it comes to the items, weapons, etc.
I'm doing my best and I hope to let you al see it ASAP

Interesting, I can't wait to try (especially since I'm doing the opposite of everything you just said. }:3) :thumb:

To more closely mimic the FF title style, the dragon needs to be a little smaller. But it looks pretty nice as is.

Best way to describe it is a mixture between Metroid and Kid Icarus; there's no platforming (since you can fly) but it mixes exploration and item collecting (Metroid) with all out arcade action/shooting (Kid Icarus). It originally started as a Kid Icarus fangame called IcarusWings but I decided to make it original (although the world is called Daedalus and the suit is called Project: Icarus).

We've already pointed out several errors, which we hope will be fixed ASAP.
Not really many people know about this project, but we are starting to take the cover off slowly.
Hence, my absence from the forum of late.

Man, good luck. I notoriously HATE teams but I still managed to get some help with Homeland and I actually finished something (surprise). The thing is not to rely on anyone else for something important; basically, if there's someone who can do something you can't, you'll probably be hurting.

But that's just my negative side talking. I don't want to rag on you or your project. You're not an idiot, so all I can say is "lol good luck"
