That looks quite sweet, Sion. It looks a lot more pristine to me when desaturated for some reason.

Sion, as much as I like Kyledove's tiles, everyone and their mother (metaphorically speaking) seems to be using them for their Pokémon games now. As far as I can tell, none of those are actually custom; making a few custom tiles, such as trees or buildings, would make it look a lot more original.

Also, you have quite a few tile errors. In Hazel Point itself, I can see half a tree next to the upper-right house, as well as a small error with the tree overlapping the rocky part underneath it. A few trees have their sides cut off, too. The bottom house has an error on the roof, as well as half-trees. The two thin trees behind it look weird too. The big rock in the water has an error.
Hazel Point - South has a few errors in the trees at the bottom, and another half-tree next to the house. The rocks in the water have the same problem as the one in Hazel Point. Finally, your water edge tiles are really inconsistent; sometimes, you use Kyledove's ones, and other times, the FR/LG ones. At the bottom, you even use both :\

The map layouts themselves are good, although some of the paths are a bit too narrow. I also dislike having tall grass in towns (Game Freak's never done it in the official games), but that's a matter of opinion.

@Incog:
The air bar is both the HP and the Ammo bar. When you get hit, you lose a minute of air supply. When you shoot an air bolt that can paralyze a target for 10 seconds, you lose 5 seconds of air supply per bolt. Air supply can be replenished slowly when you're positioned at any of the weedy plants underwater, or when you surface (but I'll have to find a way to restrain surfacing any time somehow). +some generic platformy stuff.

@Sadrin:
Looking fantastic as always! I especially like how the ground's elevation is rising gradually. One of the tree types' leaves seem to have a bit too high of a contrast compared to the others, but that should be easy to change if you do decide to. Are you making the clouds reflections move in the water via transparency + scrolling panorama, by the way?

@Wichu: Thanks Wichu. A lot of the errors I've already fixed.
But thank you for pointing them out where others may have
missed them. I can tell you're a lot more perceptive of the
proper usage being from PokemonCommunity. I plan on
going back and adding custom tiles once I get
permission to use them. I however feel as if I have to prove
myself capable first.

Alright, on to business.
Thanks to the communities help I've got my
first official battle shot released.
Only the Health bars and message boxes are
complete. Let me know how it looks before
I move on.

Awesome Bro

Wow Rei-, that looks fucking incredible, the intro was amazing, the city just looks awesome, the professor swinging a cat around to fly was epic... and I love how everything has a sound effect of some kind, I also REALLY FUCKING LOVE THE MENU, seriously, HOW did you make that on RM2k3 ?!

The only video I didn't watch is the last one, since it's bad quality and I couldn't make too much out.

Imo, I think the fog01 should be the only fog that should be used because it's actually a fog and it really makes a map look a lot better and more interesting.
that's exactly what people shouldn't do. it arbitrarily adds patches of light and dark to trick the player into thinking a map is less bland without actually improving anything. in nine out of ten maps that use it, it has no reason to be there. it's the rm equivalent of bloom; it has its place, but mostly people use it to hide weak graphics.

newsflash: fog01 is ugly and if you use it without a specific reason other than "well it makes my map look better" then you are horrible

Thank you so much! My leaves are still off? Argh... :( I'm having such a hard time with them. Thanks for letting me know though! I'll fix it. And, yup! That's how I'm doing my water. Took awhile to get it just right, but I think I've got it down now. ha.
*EDIT* Ok, I did some work on the leaves... I updated the picture. The trees near the building are the new ones and across the river are the old ones. Any better? :S

Sadrin: That looks awesome. Your tileset or....?
Thank you! I spend hours on each section. It's my own tileset. It's made up of a few original graphics by me, but other wise it's all custom edits from rips. I'm not going to use anything RTP. Oh and anything that's a building is custom shaped... meaning that I use ripped textures and apply them to my outline? Each building is it's own.

I must say, that is fantastic work! I'm so happy to see awesome looking rm2k3 games. I really like your use of colors. Makes me forget about the 256 limit.

Very nice, Speedpaws. Very gloomy looking.

You know what'd make that map even better, though? Fog0--*shot*

Anyway, my turn. Heiarch province is updated! Take notice, in particular, Garshate, up in the top-right.

Again, thanks for the space Reives!

Garshate, if you've played my game, you'll know from the Garshate Orb. The place is home to the Garshate Elves, a relativley peaceful race. One elf in particular who will become an ally of Dejack is Gwenelia, an elf who is rumoured to have lived for over a hundred years. The path off to the right there leads towards Keseenth Province.

The river there is an overworld puzzle. You have to use logs to ride the river and create new paths for yourself. You also need to make an octopus sneeze.

The path leading up in the north west leads up to Arkalte city.

BrunoTR, that's one of the few "Long walks around the world" maps which I've actually seen which I wouldn't mind actually walking along in game. It's inspired me to go and find your project topic - and I hope you've captured the essence of "HOMG We're going on an adventure!!! Lolz" :thumb:

Nice design, though the background could use some more clarifying, epically of detail and blurriness.
I wish I could make great maps like those...but my mapping sucks.
