You could keep the light streaks if you must, but you could try making them wider and make them a lighter blue instead of white. I think that would make them less obtrusive.

* Also the shadowing in the tunnel? could use more of a transition. The high contrast dithering is a bit too distracting I think.

Sorry, Showkaizer, but I don't understand what you mean. Everything I try with the tunnel only makes it worse. >.< I just haven't the faintest idea how to shade it. The lights lining the sides only makes it worse.

I'll try a darker blue (they're already a light blue, but I suppose they do look a little too white) for the streaks, and wider streaks on the horizontal surfaces, at least.

the tunnel's colors don't transition smoothly. I guess you could try adding more in-between shades, but that's just what I'd do. :\ not sure if that would help though.

Can I mess with it ? =P

If you have time and you want to, I suppose. I'd probably just redo it based on what you did, though, since your style and talent puts a lot of detail and texture on things. I'm not nearly so good. :P

@neo rpgomaniak- I see a mapping error, there's a big rock and some stairs. The stairs cut off unnaturally behind the rock. Also, the grass under the middle big tree seems unnaturally square.

@Kaito - Nice. Seems like a logically laid out work area.

@Jartsa - It's a nice concept and design, but gradients just don't look good next to pixel art. In fact, they tend to look amaturish.

Well, I tried taking out the light reflections (what I could without too much trouble, anyway). I also made the darker area where the blue blocks come together a little lighter. Not sure if it made much of a difference with the step illusion.

I think it looks kinda plain without the light streaks. :-/

Do you see what I see? That guy at the door is like behind what looks like a mat. I'm not sure if thats supposed to be there but it looks kinda odd to me...Hrmmm oh and the tunnel doesn't seem to have the right perspecitve. It just seems like a wall to me. Personal opinion. But it does look good. Great work ~enjoi

Last screenshot, then I'll stop spamming up the thread:

I actually managed to clothe one of them this time. :P

I think the X looks a bit better, and the garage. The guys feet vanishing under the door frame is because I used the template on the tileset I had for refrence, when the characters are at that point, the door will normally be open and they'll be standing on the ledge. :P

Awesome Bro

Despite the duplicated characters, the first screen is actually pretty nifty. I like the alterated colours. I know it's an easy thing to do, but this looks cool :)

This is a half-real half-mockup screenshot from my game. Ignore the floating dude, I just haven't set priorities or passabilities on that TS yet.

This screenie just shows the menu system for my game.

It doesn't look much yet, I know. And to be honest it isn't much yet. But, in the future, it will be where everything is accessed from:
-Skills and Attributes
-Equipment and accessories
-Item management

It will also contain a knowledge base called "The Archives". This will be a (searchable) database of information about all aspects of the game from quests to areas and locations.
By "Searchable" I mean you type "Quests" into an input box and it will bring up that page. If that page does not exist then it will bring up a 404 type page.

Oh and to do this, I changed the resolution to 870x480 (I think).

I need comments because, obviously, this is a big system and so I don't want to spend time doing something only to find it is a rubbish concept.

the concept is nice but the screen resolution is awful.
couldn't you make it 800*600 ? so the map screen would stay 640*480px and you could add your windows under and right to the map.
