and a game in a resolution of 800*600 can be played fullscreen. one with 870*480 (or whatever) can't.

Windows doesn't accept this resolution...

I tried a different resolution, but that just doesn't look right... Oh and 800x600 looks even worse.

Oh and I don't exactly intend on my game being played fullscreen anyway, it just makes games look stretched and not look right.

If you amke it 800X600 it won't be 'stretched' the way you mean I guess.. with a 4:3 screen...

Yeah, but 800x600 would mean either the menu would be very small, or the game screen would be thinner so more square, which wouldn't look right.

lol, you should never comment on somebody's style when you say everything looks good except those two things. That fits perfectly and looks quite nice, indeed.

Can someone comment on the actual tileset? I appreciate the map is a little lacklustre at the moment.

The wood looks paper-thin. You should be able to see the sides and the top, because of the funky perspective of 2D games.

(Also aside from the fact that my ex girlfriend's name was Lydia lol..) Anyways nothing too much to really say here... but that windowskin is hard on the eyes....
