Thanks, fox. Yeah they're Macks tiles. I wanted to go for a custom painted look but I just couldn't get the style I wanted, so I went for those. As for the boxes...you're kind of right. I'll set 'em to a nice gray and they should look better.
 
Nice Wyatt. I like the idea of gaining new spots as part of the snow is recovered. Mine is a bit different. I'm gonna post up some screens once I finish gathering all my resources/scripts (basically 90% done, just need 1 sprite and an RGSS error fixed).

I personal love that style. Feels as if it'd serve best for a quirky side project rather than a main long one though - just a gut feeling, no actual reasons.

@Miek:
The sophistication he achieved with such a limited palette is quite impressive and retro in a nice way, especially some of the battlers. Not much to say about the map other than it seems like it works as intended - I'm not sure if I'd say "too much open space" given that style.

@Junior:
In the second screenshot, the tent on the very bottom looks like it's on a very narrow path; if that's the case it feels a bit awkward that someone'd choose such a location over a more open space. Other than that, looking great.

@Fox:
Cute stuff. Only thing I can pinpoint is that the chimney feels as if it's on a different "y" displacement as the ground rather than sprouting from the ground, if that makes sense.

@Benard:
Nicely done, I think you captured the VX's style just right with that house. The gradient's placement almost seems like it was made based on the placement of the house in that specific screenshot though, hahah - good stuff.

@Wyatt:
I think some recolours to the pine tree would go a long way with the palette your grass uses. Some of the pines seem to root awkwardly off the mount. I love the colour of the mountain parts of the "cliff" tiles, looks really pristine.

Got them pretty close, eh? I am rather satisfied with the results. Here's the HUD as well, matching the style of the menu:

-.- You went with the common abs and edited the hud, I think you should script your own hud, that would be awesomer :P. The menu looks pretty good so far, but Isn't there a way to enlarge the screens (like the mock-up menu's larger like the example?)

yeah, there are a couple things I'm still getting used to with that style of mapping (i.e. DE using the floor autotile for a "metal plated floor" look instead of just slathering it all over like me) but that was mostly just a mixture of self-whoring and euphoria -- as previously stated, I plan to heavily edit things or else I'll never make any big progress in the field of spriting talent.

The sprite and face graphic have scars on different sides. You'll have to flip on or the other around.
I don't know what the "star board" will be, but it's strange to me that "save" comes before it. I'd think "save" and "end game" would both be last.
 
Yeah. The star board is kind of like an ability grid. It uses Guardian's set up, so the script that added it in put it there automatically. I can look over the script really quick and see if I can change it. As for face, the reason it is like that is I simply just flipped it in Photoshop. The face is actually part of the BG. That charset is a place holder anyways.
 
you people are way too picky sometimes, who cares that the scar is on the other side? even if he said the char is temporary I don't think he should change it just because of that.
The menu looks fine to me, no big problems, I agree that the star board could be before the Save option though. good luck with it.

I didn't see anything like that when I was checkin around his site, and I had it translated.  =/

First one would be 'don't wake up the bat & try not to get hit' puzzle. :x

I'd like to ask, if you could point out where they look bad? They're suppose to be floating in the first place thou. :x would like to know where it doesn't look right.

the idea of the game is to travel around the christmas world, the halloween world, the easter season world, and the lover's day world. I'll post some graphics of the other worlds when I have them =)

The floating glass platforms.  The little purple-ish things below them.  I guess that's part of the platform but it doesn't look right to me.

Hehe, that kind of reminds me of Nightmare Before Christmas.

Do you have any pictures from the other worlds?
