Those names, I think, need to be changed. Stronghold Island? Blizzard Isle? They sound pretty corny.

Try looking up some words that may translate to the same thing, and create names based on them.

The town of Chilinry is out of the way. Built on the Fimbeln Glacis, a inhospitable but pristine and beautiful mountain, it very rarely gets visitors or contact from the outside world. It is for the most part, self sufficient. There is a yearly stock up of goods from below the mountain in summer to last them fall and winter. Word was that Chilinry was failing and the people were not able to provide enough food for themselves due to a infection of the food, but everything seems to have solved itself inexplicably.

However, as if to keep things tough for life on the Glacis, the undead have begun to appear in the Fimbeln Glacis, leading to suspicion of a cult practicing Necromancy in the area.
 
Interesting Map, keinaru. the mapping is quite good and those mobs look very interesting.
I wonder, how i will get past those spikes in the floor to rescue the sleeping girl :)
 
I'm pushing a anime style on the spriting without clashing with RTP to much, but I'll probably be making some addons for the tileset, thought it'll still be rtp.

The bottom left guy is really bad, but leaving that one out the rest will probably be the style I'll stick with for the characters, the clash isn't bad and the style of it will help the characters stand out, which works well imo, but thats just imo x.x
 
It seems that a lot have a gradient effect on them, and they clash with the rtp too much. You want to make your characters belong to the world, not just stuffed in there. But that's only my opinion. The blue lights are pretty bad too, they don't provide light as so much as a glow.

Just testing some graphics, simple ones anyway.

The blue lamps are a nice touch, but why would they be on during the day, and why would the light come out from the center? Maybe make a slight edit on the charset so that is comes out of the bulbs instead.

the girl's picture is nothing like her sprite. if you're going to have that kind of effect for characters, you have to make sure that they match.

then again that sprite's probably a placeholder, in which case yeah nevermind me!

006, I really like the glass, but the diagonal panes on the right seem strange because you just mirrored them and so the "streaks" go against the direction of the streaks on all the other panes of glass. otherwise, it looks pretty solid!
 
ah, no, that girls in your party, so her sprite doesn't actually show up...

eh, rpg cliches... lol

yeah, I'll probably have her sprite show up as well when I'm going through cut scenes, but I absolutely hate caterpillar systems.

While redoing the intro cutscene I also decided it was a nice opportunity to try out a puzzle idea I had been thinking about.

Here you play as the main antagonist for a moment as he tried to put this bloodstained puzzle back together for malicious reasons. What the puzzle is supposed to look like it shown above (One piece is missing so as to allow movement). The goal is to make the puzzle by sliding blocks. Block can only be slid into an adjacent empty space. The arrow cursor is used to select a block to slide.
