While redoing the intro cutscene I also decided it was a nice opportunity to try out a puzzle idea I had been thinking about.

Here you play as the main antagonist for a moment as he tried to put this bloodstained puzzle back together for malicious reasons. What the puzzle is supposed to look like it shown above (One piece is missing so as to allow movement). The goal is to make the puzzle by sliding blocks. Block can only be slid into an adjacent empty space. The arrow cursor is used to select a block to slide.
Oh, god, those things. I'm no good at those DX

Looks nice, though. Love that eerie map, too :D
 
@monkey:I actually think that screen should be a little bit darker. Because it kinda looks like [[if this were a 3d game]] there'd be WAY to much bloom lighting effect on. Although one would need to question why lamps would need to be on in broad daylight! :eek:

Ahahah, we just had to write a program to solve that type of puzzle for an assignment a couple of weeks ago. :tongue2:
Looks nice, but I think the puzzle could take up more space in the screen, and perhaps semi-blackout rest of the map while the puzzle's in place.

I personal love that style. Feels as if it'd serve best for a quirky side project rather than a main long one though - just a gut feeling, no actual reasons.
Thanks, the map was actually meant for the winter wondermap competition, but I'm afraid I haven't got enough spare time to actually MAKE it.

On another note, I'm helping someone out with graphics for a game, and it's kind of in the same style:

I'd say the weird outline around things. Its a tad bit to distracting if anything. I find myself oogling the outside more than I do anything in the center of the screen.
 
@monkeydlu  - I like the harmony of your map, the details are distributed in an intelligent manner and basis did you do to pass a lighter appearance of depth. But I think we can fill a little over the scene, also detail the way that will not pollute it, try it and see what we achieved.

Now a map man, this is for the MMO Brazilian Kairon. Remember only you'd like to assess the mapping itself, because the scenario also receive lighting and everything.

JuniorMaker, I've noticed one problem with your map. The waterfall in the bootom right hand corner has no source, the water just comes from nowhere which isn't very logical... or possible.

one problem is that the stars start later up tha they should. unless they're cutting through the waterfall or go straight up, you should extend them down a couple more tiles.
