006- I agree with Fox5, a tad of red-ish color would improve the look because this present color gives the map a dull look, i also think you should use more contrast for the cliff.
Here's a quick example, it's crappy because i used the lasso tool and made a quick color & contrast change the the piece of cliff, but as you can see it stands out a bit more now.
**Picture gone.

If you just want a green color maybe using a green color closer to yellow would be good.
E- I noticed that you can barely make out the top of the cliff against the grass, that's another good reason to change this color or at least the contrast.

Both you guys I don't think you're overlays work too well.

Keinaru I am mainly talking about your bottom image, why would a farmy sort of town have a horrible green wash over it?  It doesn't look right.

thios - Whatever you have over the screen makes an already cluttered screen seem even more so... I almost get claustrophobic looking at that map.

Keinaru, your image with the castle bridge has a problem in the bridge.  There is a small strip of blue showing, so you may need to use different tiles there or adjust your tileset.

@ Keinaru: I'm having real trouble understanding what is going on with the walls there, and how exactly the building is formed. Try making it more coherent.

@thios: Oh, hey. That's very nice. Where'd you get that tileset?

Tell me..

Is this good enough to game in?
Or would I need to make it more pleasant?
Or is this an utter failure?

And about the map..
Would it suffice to leave it as bare as it is?
Or should I stuff it up with more objects?

I'm stealing from DE, a rather cool spriter over at GW. His initial project was cancelled and I decided that I really liked the graphical style (the sort of pseudo-Gameboy thing, with only four shades of grey to sprite with.) The tileset right now is almost entirely DE's work (I tried to fix the fencing but made it look crappy, the layered look is gone now) and Cube there is a placeholder, but right now I'm just loving the way it looks. And, hey, people have used this thread to whore themselves out in a far more blatant manner than I'm using, so hey.

I intend to use the tileset as a base and edit the living fuck out of it, just so that I don't feel like such a ne'er-do-well.

Samot, I really like the style of your map. I don't think it needs any more objects, but maybe fix the bright green areas around the bridge, house, and the top right corner so they match the surroundings.

As the map above, I will not comment for using a tile that does not make me able to opt ... very strange.

I would like to some criticism on these maps:

It is a village, surrounded by forests and mountains, pointing out that it was not yet implemented the basic purposes that the map will be lights, people and so on. The overall dimensions are 85 x 82, please note that some parts of this scenario will compose the SS of the new tutorial that I am preparing for the tutorial I am developing a new map, but some were removed SS this map to serve as an example of certain points. Soon, all the techniques and methods that used to develop this background that the SS will be unveiled.

Thank you.

Junior - It looks like the door is very hard to get to in the first shot, in the second you got a few too many flowers. Cut down a bit.
Miek! - It looks really cool, it gives the game a nice smooth feel. Though the character confuses me a bit, is he a toad or something, he doesn't appear to have legs?

Oh yeah know I remember, his name was cube right? Sorry I just read over your post to find the name and, that it was a place holder, I should pay more attention.

Need some opinions...

This is my battle system for the Christmas contest. I'm gonna make some new battle animations, and lots of cool events will happen in the battle, but this is the basic scene. It is, in essense, the DBS, but with a new Hud as you can see... the battlers and battleback are RTP edits (snow town for the BB).

The apples show what is essentially the "HP" of the player.

It'll make more sense in the actual game, it isn't really like a normal battle. It's just the looks I need opinions on really.
