Just as I was about to press Prnt Scrn the thunderclap happened so i had to wait for the screen to calm before taking the shot!

I've been watching the Dreams project go since practically day 1! I was even upset when the blog died and very surprised to find you've switch engines entirely.

I can see why it looked so crap, now that I've done it even better. If you hadn't insulted it so blatently I wouldn't have improved it at all! I was too focused on the eventing to get the graphics up to scratch. I can't wait to show people the ingame!

If I just wanted to insult it, i wouldn't have commented on the fact that it was a good concept imo.
plus, a cool idea like that deserved a better execution ;)

I'm actually talking with St3v0 to get my webpage of the game done, so we'll have updates petty soon.
I'm also working on getting a lot of textures done. they're a pain in the ass, especially since i'm not going for a realistic look.
 
Xilef, it wouldn't happen to be a Halo fangame would it? I've never played Halo, though I have seen enough to know that the thing in the background resembles the rest of the halo planet.
 
Xilef: The new one looks pretty nice. It's still a bit bare though. Are you going to add some trees in the background? That would make it a bit more interesting. And I'm not sure about the actions box being in the top left hand corner, either.

NO! NO! NO!
Anyway, Halo did not invent that "planet". Larry Niven thought up a ring world a long time before Halo which is very much different anyway.
It is NOT Halo at all!!! (Plus; fangames suck)
Halo's world isn't...Battle enough.

Yes I'll be adding tress when I eventually work out how I'm going to draw/animate them. Trees will be the hardest part. I might also add an animal or two that trots past and sniffs around before exitting the screen on the left.
EDIT: Actually I might add an airship the flies over in the distance.
EDIT2: I've added some falling leaves now, it's not floods of leaves cascading to the ground but 1 or 2 small ones that drop straight down every so-often. It looks good and doesn't make the scene too lively.

There's a tree, tell me if it's bad or good. You can see a leaf around the bottom right.

Tree doesn't sway on peaceful or foggy
Butterfly doesn't flutter past on rainy, stormy or windy
Leaves don't fall on foggy
Thunderclap only happens on stormy
 
I have a question about this place I'm making for my game. There's a room with a balcony round the edge. My question is this; do I use two maps, one for the lower floor and another for the upper, or just use one map; like this:

I find that the two map gives a better sense of elevation for the upper maps, as a long map with a staircase just seems like a big corridor to me. Of course this is just personal preference but I'd stick with the way you've done it at the moment with the two separate maps.
 
Wow, huge improvement 006. The palettes are much better. The few things I would say is that the mountains are a bit too green and the trees look way too square. Try rounding them off a bit. Other than that, looks good.
 
I actually liked the wall better in the first screen 006. Because in the second one it looks incredibly hard to see. No its just the colors blend in a tad bit to well. Maybe some brown would help?
