The Screenshot Thread

@ BerryBliss: The houses look out of proportion to the character, im assuming the tileset will allow you to create larger houses, but your 2 story looks even more out of proportion than the single level.

it also looks like your lamp perspective might be off a bit, im not an expert on this, but the pole base seems to be a front perspective, while the top is of a top-down one.

Awesome Bro

Berrybliss, the houses are out of proportion to the character a lot! But a lot of RPG games are like that, really.
Not a massive fan of anything in that screenshot, really. But like you said, it isn't finished.

@BerryBliss
Always nice to see original work, nothing new to add except that the bridge boards have too much dithering, and maybe those bricks will stand out a bit more if you made the center areas a darker shade.

I've been working on a FF MysticQuest remake and i decided to go for a more colorful looking world to give this game a unique look, anyway i would like to know what you guys think of this look so far, as well as the look for the hero.

Look lower for pic.

I love the character man :) It could use a little dropshadow to stand out more though.
But the grass looks too repetive and the leaves on the tree have a different perspective compared to the trunk. *great choice of color*

Ah i have that shadow extra i made for the template, i will use that for sure, I also planned to add a second darker shade for for the grass but totally forgot about it :dead:

On the foliage vs the trunk i don't understand though, i wanted the tree leaves to in a way pop into many different directions, i think i got that but i don't see how the perspective is screwed up.

I will take a close look and see if i see anything wrong.

E-Ah i think you meant the stump right?
I've edited the stump, but let me know if you meant the actual trunk, and thanks i'm pretty happy with the colors ^^

Uh, sorry if I sound rude, but whats the point of this thread?  Are you supposed to show screens of unique items in your game?  Or is it just to post certain part of your game?

basically, this thread serves as:
a.) a place to hype your project
and
b.) a place to get feedback on WIP things(tiles, sprites etc.)

so you can really do either. I thought that a quick look-see through the thread would be enough to answer that question.

Well I looked at the first few pages and they made it seem like it was to show your custom stuff.  Thats why I asked.

@Tach: Haven't you been here a while? I figured you would know what this thread is for!

@Congress: I do like that a lot but its all we've ever seen. What kinda sprites are you going to use?

@Walking: The contrast on that is really high. It hurts my eyes like hell! While its not bad it is really really bright. Of course that is how the Breeze is done. So all is good.

@Berry: Kudos for the mini ghost thingy though. Thats pretty Cute :3

This is a map I threw together for the debug room in my game(old game-Changed the Battle System)
What do you guys think of them? I know it's just a debug map, but a maps a map in my book. I also like mapping a lot so i'm always trying to improve it.

Here's the whole map.

And Here's a couple of the player actually on the map.

There are quite a few ground mapping errors, such as where the grass joins the sand. Your map also seems very cluttered. It just looks like you've used everything in the tileset and chucked it on there. And also, you have the bridge the wrong way round.

Oh, and your HUD looks really squashed and cluttered as well.

What purpose does the HUD serve?
It's for Mr. Moes ABS. The squares at the top are for the hotkey(skill/Items). I was in the process of trying to make my own graphics for it, but just kinda stopped half way through.lol. And I know the HUD doesn't look to great. I'm still new to making graphics.

Yeah, I just found the grass to sand error...It must have happened when I was putting stuff in with layers.
I'm not sure when you mean the bridge has an error though. The wrong way?

The HUD does look cluttered though, I agree. I was in the process of fixing that, try to make my own and what not.

The Bridge rails are the wrong way. It should be the other bridge tile, not that one.

EDIT: Also, in the second screen, there apears to be a log floating above the lake.
EDIT 2: Actually, where does the lake come from in the first place, and how can there be enough water there for a waterfall?
