Among other things. Mostly, it's to display your work, and people will say what they will about it.

Okay, I'll bite. Just what does a screenshot thread require that a game can't provide if it isn't made in RM? It wouldn't belong here if it wasn't his work, but that's the only requirement in my mind.

I think the point that Diego was making is that it's still Dreams, his project, even though he's moved on to a 3D engine. Barkley, Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden was made in Game Maker, if I recall, and that was never an issue at GW or here at .ORG.
Considering the forum's description only mentions RM~ games, I always saw it as an RM-only forum. =p I don't mind, but it's just a little strange to see different engines suddenly popping up. :3

@Sailer: Nice lighting. Is that an overlay or a charset/picture? I'm guessing the latter. The house is awkwardly small though. Like, the rooms to the side seem to be 2 x 4 tiles or so.

@006: I love the charset. (Though I'm guessing it's probably a rip?) I don't like how random the vegetation is, though. IMO you'd be better off with a high grass autotile, and scattering the most vegetation around these areas in a more logical way. Also, what IS that round green vegetation? A bush? A frog? The one that is also on tile x = 4 y = 1.

Nope. It is a custom template and clothes and stuff. I was going to release the template when I finish it, but I thought it was too ugly!

Yeah I need to make more vegetation, but I find plants and trees are really difficult to sprite.

Is what your talking about one of those?
They're both rocks! If not the rest of the tiles are just weeds!

That's looking awsome, 006! Kind of reminds me of a cross between Zelda and Sword of Mana.

I'm just wondering, why is the screen that size? Is that cropped, a resolution script, or are you using a different game maker? Cause it's not XP.
Keep it up.

@006: Oh in that case, I LOVE your charset style. : D

And like I said in my post, the vegetation is at x = 4 y = 1, in that screenshot. It looks like a frog or something. @_@

Thanks Fox5, I'm glad it reminds you of a cross between Zelda and Sword of Mana. It's the sort of style I was looking for! The screen size is 320x240. I'm using BlueScope's resolution script. I make 16x16 tiles then blow them up by 200%, then put them on the tileset. So in the editor it is 32x32. But in the game the window and tiles have been shrunk down.

Well, thanks Twin Matrix!

I'll try fix that then!

First, don't make all of the houses look the same.

Edit some holes into the walls and rooftops... maybe add some boarded up windows, and debris to lie on the ground made of the parts of the houses that were destroyed.

Try to take a set of the rooftop tiles and edit them to be slanted on an angle, like they collapsed.
