Man this screen was hard to get, took one person on Print Screen and one playing. :P

Still missing the free-falling sprite and need to fix the floating-shooting-with-hand-out since the torso got squished, but it's a new VX system I'm working on.

(Player in the center, clones everywhere!)

You can see a bit more what it looks like here:

Yaoumei did the sprites and particles, we're using a cheap system: she draws a 'sprite' and then cuts all the limbs onto different layers, then moves them around and polishes up the final frames.

@Anaryu:
Hahah, great stuff - Reminds me of the old school console platform-shooter games. With all the actions going on, the "cheap-spriting" probably won't be too noticeable unless the player looks for it.

If I would make one suggestion, though: In the video, it seems that some of the connected shots (purple ones if I remember right) were a little too "dense", almost like a solid tube. Personally, I think it might have a better visual effect if there was more of a minimum distance between each shot to make it feel stringy, yet still separate shots. Personal preferences, though.

Running low on time, so I'm just going to post the "poster" that includes screenshots. Shameless plug? Damn straight.

Yes, those were pretty dense, but everything there is just testing stuff, the rate of fire, bullet graphics, all of that is always completely customizable, I had them nice and dense more to show that it handle a decent amount of on-screen chaos. The actual skills and such will be balanced. :)

Mesh that doesn't explain why those fogs are there even though they seem to serve no purpose and make no sense.

im currently working ona day/night system so this was a tryout of it.

Sailerius - Looks cool, maybe make the red darker to blend with the background more!
Ynlraey - That looks awesome! Is it platformer? And if so are you using RPG maker?
RojoBo - Looking good, did you make any of it yourself?

Decided I'd scrap the the custom resolution script, too many bugs, so the graphics are all 200%.
Does the player and monster look too big?
