Oh I see, It just looks a little odd because nothing else is visible outside the circle. It's not a major problem though, so it's up to you whether you keep it or not.

Progress!

The poor part of the city. You're not really meant to travel along the more dense areas of the city that much, hense the cluttered houses.

A marketplace. Since this screenshot was taken I've edited the contrast of the objects that clashed with the rest of the tileset.

Here's the town in action!

The npc's will be replaced in the final version. So far I've just used the heroes of the game as npc's because I haven't added the real npc's yet.
Oh, and ignore the mindless crazyness from some of the npc's in the video

@Mustardy: Yeah, the roots are fine, as long as there's enough variety. Thanks, I like your reddish color tone for your mine too.

Looks really good so far... Did you create those tilesets? or were they ripped from some gameboy advance game?

Bout the roots, Yea I thought so too, and for the mines, I think I'm going to leave it the way it is. The only problem I have with the mines is that there arn't any bridges with safety sides in the tilesets. Anyone have the same mine tileset with some safety handles on the sides of the bridges? Would be nice to get my hands on that. Thanks in advance.

And hows this for a Gardener in the middle of a dessert?

Thanks! I've taken the graphics from different tilesets that were originally ripped from other SNES games. They're actually ripped for rm2k games, so I had to convert them as well.

Way to many cactus's stacked side by side in the desert. It looks cluttered and unrealistic as that small of area would not get that much water to support all of those plants and trees, maybe if you removed half it would be better without depretiating the garden.

Any more pop and it's not a moor anymore! :)

I really like the colors. You should edit the cliff bottoms to blend in with the tall moor grass though.

Yea? But then that would make the map a little ummmm 'empty' Won't you say?

Actually, no. Deserts are pretty empty, cacti usually don't grow really clumped together unless it's near a water source.

So your saying that I should add a water tile near every map and they should look natural?

You don't need to add a bunch of water tiles, but you can just limit the amount of cacti and don't put them in rows or columns and it should look fine.

By the way, your "Virgo Safearea" looks pretty good, I don't see anything you should fix except for maybe less of the extending tiles on the cliffs.

Extending Tiles? What are those? Does this mean I used a tile that I didn't even know about? man I am a good mapper... lol.

And to my defence Cacti can grow without watery dessert areas :

If those plants are cactus then that should justify my use of cactus growing in clusters without water tiles beside them.

@Regi; yep, I try to make at least 90% of my graphics. It's actually quite easy to do starfield graphics. I am thinking of posting a tut. in the art and graphics area.

By extending tiles (couldn't find the right word for it) I mean these:

And yeah, it really depends on where the desert is. But it just doesn't look too good having all those cacti clumped together, because there's so little variety. If you make a bunch of variating cactus tiles yourself, I guess it would be okay to have them together. Anyway, my point is you should reduce the number of cacti and space them out better (don't have them in rows or columns) so it doesn't look so crowded.

This is how you visit the different areas in the capital of the world in my project.

I know there's an ugly watermark in the bottom right T_T, will photoshop it out of it later

The character has some cutout-issues, will fix later. These are no priorities.

As the party grows, all of your members will show on that screen btw.
