Atemu: Really?  There were alot of modifications I did to make it function... I wanted it real bad haha. It wasn't exactly what you'd call an easy process. bahaha. And the witch actually floats, but it's not the normal float, I edited it, so that when you hit the flying enemies, they fall to the ground and then get up after a couple seconds.

And the HUD, the problem is that I spaced it so it worked with my long named enemies. Because it's right justified, the names stick out more. I will fix the HUD when I get my rotating enemy pictures working for the enemy database. ^^

This is the status screen, not my art, I have an artist. Only from the waist up was done, i just quickly colored it in and added hips to see what it would look like in the status screen.

This one may confuse people, this is the sorceror's ring. You shoot it at targets and switchs you can't reach. And the characterset is NOT RMXP RTP, it's actually a style taken from Tales of Eternia.

And this is the chat scene thing. Where you can press a certain button and an event with facesets ensues.

I'll be posting a demo soon!


And I'm making a script and I'll be posting some screenshots of that too. Based off what I've seen from linear battle and tactical battle, I plan to combine them to make a Rondo of Swords-esque script. You'll see that soon as well! ^^

  The only problem I found is the inconsistency in character outfit. Her pic in the box shows that she has this pink cloak or whatever wrapped around here, while there's no sign of any pink cloak in the picture in the status scene.

  Looks nice so far. Hope you finish this, since we do need more visual novel made by xp/vx ;)

  Yup, but only one more stage, though. But I'm sure you'll have to spend a lot of time on this stage if you want to beat the extra mission :)
 
@MapleCutter; No, because the event are just random cutscene that tell you where you have to go, or just random other things. It helps you get to know the characters, not the storyline.


@Hima; Aha, yes because those are just tests to test out the Character Chat Scene. Those aren't the ones I'm using. I just hired my artist and he's working on the status screen pictures before he gets me the facesets.
 
@ hima: I had a go at that awesome game of yours (USG), but I already died at stage 3 (maybe I should try one of the more easy settings?). I'll definately try to complete it though, if only to see what you made of the other bosses and enemies.

And I'll definately finish the game, that's not really the problem. How long it's going to take is the major breakpoint.

@Kav: Eh, that's not a female's head. Males can have long hair too you know :wink:

For those of you wondering: 'Why did he put japanese in there?'
Well, that's because the game takes place in a japanese setting, and because the title of the game is in japanese (Fujutsu, meaning Witchcraft). That's what it says right there.
 
well, this isn't exactly RPG maker stuff, but it does show I've not died yet. It's very sketchy and more of a draft than anything else. the graphics and textures are all going to be replaced and made better. the character model is final, but needs to be textured, as of now it's just for color reference.
the terrain is a 3 min test and I forgot to place grass and trees, yay!

the rays of light just make up for the emptyness, I'm not too much of a light-fag, in the end result it'll all be done with moderation.

I don't think it's the hair, it's the soft chin. Usually only preteen boys have girlish or ambiguous faces. But if that's what you're going for, then, well, guess it's right then.
 
diego i literally jaw-dropped at that.

while i'm at it, i havent been online in a while, hit me up a pm or something let me know if you haven't dropped me yet because i'm willing to get back into the game.
 
Oh my god diego, what are you using to create that? The graphics look superb!

btw, Kienaru: I love your mapping, it looks very dark and grim, and I enjoy that.
 
thanks for the comments everyone, the game is Being made in 3d Gamestudio now, It's much faster to make, since I'm able to work on the levels myself.
I will soon show some more screens, especially to show the water shaders, and a textured character.
 
Atemu, it wasn't that I couldn't settle with one style.
I just couldn't find an artist who could produce the amount of painted maps needed, it was hard to do, and I had to work with many artists, sadly they all couldn't handle the amount of work.

THIS on the ohter hand, I can do the mapping myself, and it's so  SO SO much faster to create good results. there's more resources to be made, but that's much faster too, considering I have artists for each specific thing (characters, Buildings, an Props) I'm also the one doing the terrains, trees and plants.  it's so good to feel more active in the creation of maps.
