Hmm. You've got the right feel, but, the building walls aren't aligned properly, and it looks like an eshcher drawing. On the building on the left, the left wall is shorter than the right wall. Same on the right building, the roof comes down too far on the left edge. You need to get the building heights right.

The one building crossing to the other island is a Wip, I don't know if I like where it's going but I'll post it as well to get some feedback on it, mind you it's not completely done.
While the maps look gorgeous, I can't help to think it's a weird place to build a capital, it's filled with high and potentially dangerous cliffs, with not even fences on them.
But leaving realism aside, I think it looks great.

Well yes, but it's also a potential natural barrier against attacks. In the story this is a capital with a lesser militairy force, the only thing they have going for them is their advances in magic. The militairy power of klendathu was overwhelming to them. This was kind of a natural bottle neck if I could call it that.
I also intended to make em closer to nature, so having lots of greenery and water was a given ^^.
I agree with you it's a little hazardous to live but it's meant to be a little bit leaning to the fantasy side.
The idea of that building crossing the water is faptastic..
Not very sensemaking.. but realism was shoved aside before.. =]
Anyway..
Keep up the unique buildings.
@Money:
Yes, that's indeed a map from 'The Dangling bucket'..
But I temporarily stopped working on that.. due to real-life's heavy weight.
Anyway, I will continue in the summer holiday.
I hope those iso games actually have iso movement, or else it's gonna feel funny while walking on those maps...
the graphics looks good btw, like a pumped up habbo hotel
I guess I should've explained before in the last screenie I posted that the black background was purely because it was a mockup :/
Anyway, two new screenies. Well, they are both still mockups. Haven't had time to work on the actual systems as some bugs cropped up and I've been out all day.
And with it, the process of turning ore into metal: smelting.
You add your metal ore first to start the process. You then add coal, to increase the temperature. Different metals need a different temperature to smelt them. The pressure rises and lowers all the time, and you have to press enter when the pressure is around halfway, and the progress bar is full.
