Really? Seems fine to me.

It does look good so far, though. I reckon you'd need more trees to have an "enclosed forest". And try the tree map fog, too. You know, the leafy one.

  They set up the firecamp , there should be light from the fire, right?  Maybe that would help with the brightness issue :)

  The only problem I found is the menu window texture. I don't think it looks good ^ ^;;. How about using that texture only on the borders and leave the center area smooth?
  Anyway, about the map, the clouds are so cool! I bet they'd look much better in the actual game because they'll be moving , eh? :D And the chipsets looks fine to me though :)
 
I do not know if this was intentional, but there does not seem to be any definitive line between the curves in the mountains... The sides kind of blend together. I kind of like the style though, could be interesting...

Good idea. I've been messing around with lighting via fogs. I have this so far. Not the best, but it sort of gets the job done. It does need improvement though. How big should the radius of a campfire be?

Wyatt I don't know if you've heard anything like it before but with the smaller window already, the health bars are rather impeding.  Do they really need to be that chunky, they could be much thinner, less in your face with regards to contrast and displayed horizontally across the top of the screen.

@ Nortos - Try to make sure you don't have the same flower exactly parallel if the whole map is not going to be dominated by them, it may be possible in real life but looks awkward in a tiled map.
