I'm having odd issues reading this thread. It doesn't let me access the newest page, or the two newest pages occasionally. Been happening for several days now. Anyone else having this problem? Nearly missed out on Ccoa's cliff work because of it.

Nice going. :) Been studying how to pixel art cliffs 'right' for months.

Actually I think the thread is all screwy again. That's because you are posting on this page, yet it's showing that there is another page after this one. Maybe this is really page 291.

Yeah, I think this actually is the last page. I've been having this problem on a few other threads too now days, kinda bothered me at first.

@Adrenaline: Beautiful as always, love how you got the lighting effect there.

Wewt, more painted maps. :) Love 'em, adds quite a unique touch. Must be hard work to do an entire painting for each map, though; but it sure pays off.

@ccoa: I like the way it looks 3D now, except that the wall doesn't cover the shadow part (?) and that to me it looks more like a wall than a cliff now. :P

@Diegoale: Great, now post a demo. :P

Nice atmosphere. But is it me or is the angle on the panorama off? It looks like if you jump down the cliff you'll fall to the horizon. oO

By the way, may I suggest giving the arrows a Photoshop blur and/or making them transparant, to keep the feeling that you?re in a different world and not in a game with arrows and buttons floating in the map?

Now that you mention it, that's a good point (although I guess in a way it is somewhat of a cliff, but still too extreme). :eek: I might try to edit the panorama in photoshop a bit to lighten up the angle. Thanks for the heads up!

Edit: Heheh, point taken for that arrow thing. I'll fade their opacity a bit.

Ignore the priority issues with the trees. They sort themselves out in-game.

Also the purple plant has to do with the game, to explain it's awkwardness.

The mapping itself is good and the combination of tilesets always pleases me but something seems wrong to me when contrasting the now desaturated greens with a very rich brown colour. It creates quite an eyesore in my opinion but maybe it is more tolerable in game or maybe my monitor is making it worse than it is.
