@Destin
Good start, but a lot of spots there seems to give a blank-ish feel; especially the pavement around the road. Perhaps incorporating more shapes into it or adding more details could fix that. :)

Agreed, also because it's so symmetrical it could get a little dull down the line. Maybe mix it up and try and keep away from it being to symmetrical

@ ccoa - The wall/cliff thing looks more like a path rather than a wall to me. Maybe if you had some of the grass overhanging the rocks?

Yes i agree with rye. I first thought that it was rubble rather than cliffs. Im not quite sure but i think it should be a little darker towards the bottom. But im no pixel artist.

ccoa : I also agree with Rye. I think it's because the rocks are all cylindrically shaped, so the way they're placed would have to make the cliff an incline rather than straight up and down.

Yeap, I'm with Prexus and Rye on this one. It looks more like a path at the moment, just add some shadow and it should be great :D

@Ellescene - it's supposed to be an incline, albeit a sharp one. Very few cliffs are straight up and down, something that bugs me about the RTP cliffs. It should be more obvious when the sides are done.

I'll darken it towards the bottom and see if that helps. Also, adding side cliffs should help with the perspective.

Oh yeah, the city is supposed to be full of order, that's why its symmetrical.

I dont think it's the spriting on Ccoa's cliffs that are the problem..I think it is just in that screenshot since the sides are not done..that it makes it appear to be a path.. (yes I know..covered)
Once she finishes it I bet it is going to look amazing already does to me..)

Like I said, the rocks aren't casting shadows on each other. It's both illogical, and a good reason for the tiles to not be looking proper.

Figured someone would say that. Yeah it's pretty miniscule. I have a new battler for Kaiser and resprited some enemies. Felt like sharing it. forgive my incompetence. >.>
