Well, I'm not ahppy about RTP graphics, but we all know gameplay > looks, right? So make sure you invest 200% of afford in the mechanics ;) Oh right, and keep up the good work.

I can't see a particular reason for using this instead of PhotoShop, but well... if you don't just do a copy of Paint, but include a few specific features, that could indeed prove useful for some... well, I think you planned something like that by yourself, so I won't pseudo-steal your ideas now by posting suggestions ^_^

zomgies, looks FAKE! :)
Probably isn't, but looks nice. Add some awesome features. If its just MSPaint for RMXP, It wont be that useful, eh? :)

Well, Paint doesn't allow alpha transparency, or transparency at all, nor does it allow layers. The script allows for transparency and layers plus a larger colour palette then the simple colour swatches of MS Paint. The catch is that it will only save the file as a PNG. No JPEGs, BMPs or GIFs until somebody makes some for the Zlib library.

I think it could be useful. Personally I love Graphics Gale and despise Photoshop and Painter for overcomplicating things. I mean, seriously, if I make a selection, I want to just click and drag the selection to whereever I darn well please. But noooo. You have to right click, you've got to float, you've got to drag, then you've got to sink the float, then you've got to remerge the layers... AUGH!!! What a complicated waste of time! I just want to click and drag! Why bother with float at all? I could just cut and paste onto a new layer. o_O

Obviously I do not understand professional software. All I need for Graphics Gale to be perfect is for it to have the option to create anti-aliased brushes - or at least, a single brush in there with anti-aliased sides, which would really help with sketching. Can only create monochrome bitmap brushes. Which I guess is more sensible for pixel art, though, so heck.

Would help to have the eraser function on my Wacom pen work there though, instead of it sketching with both sides.

So. Good luck with RMXPaint, hope it comes along well! :)

Yes good luck with rmxpaint man, I think you should add shortcuts for the different tools as well, this is something i really dislike about mspaint, it just feels like a hassle to keep going back to click this and that all the time, i guess i got spoiled by Kolourpaint (linux program), it has everything paint does and more, but since you can't use rmxp in linux..:'(

And yeah imo png is all you need really.

A few questions:
Will it have layers? If so, how many max?
Will you be able to open different files in different windows(inside RMXP)?
Max zoom level?
Customizable grid Support?
Any caps on max length and width?

More questions :

Will it have custom size of brushs ? i mean like 0.1 \ 5.23
What format of files it would be able to open ?(bmp, JPG, JPEG)
Will it have any other special tools exept Paint once?

Thanks loler12 :D mm.. by the way its look amaizing !!

I'm reminded that Darin's back still needs a touch-up

Every Head Prison Guard needs a Teddy Bear to ward off those scary nightmares

I think it's awesome that you're making your own graphics. Don't let your perspective issues hold you back . It's a common mistake when people are making tilesets for the first time. Just think that you're looking at something from above. So if the surface of something is rectangular, it should look that way on top. There shouldn't be any distortion

I hope you don't mind but I fixed up your screen (the shelves and desk) real quick to show what I mean:

QUESTIONS
  1. Will it have layers? If so, how many max?
  2. Will you be able to open different files in different windows(inside RMXP)?
  3. Max zoom level?
  4. Customizable grid Support?
  5. Any caps on max length and width?
  6. Will it have custom size of brushes ? i mean like 0.1 \ 5.23
  7. What format of files it would be able to open ?(BMP, JPG, JPEG)
  8. Will it have any other special tools except Paint once?
ANSWERS
  1. Yes it will have layers. The only layer cap is when the maximum data limit the layers array is reached.
  2. No. This feature will not be available (Maybe in a later version)
  3. There is no maximum or minimum zoom level right now. (zoom in *= 2.0, zoom out /= 2.0)
  4. This could be added on in a letter version
  5. Right now it's 128x192 until I get the dimensions settings to work, then it will be 640x480
  6. There are no brushes, so no brush sizes
  7. It can open all the image formats that RMXP can use
  8. Please elaborate on this question some more. I can't understand what you are saying here.
