The last film you saw

thinkin bout goin to the movies on friday. what movie should we see?

- woman in black
- underworld awakening
- girl w/ dragon tattoo
- tyler perry's good deeds (lol)

i'm leaning most towards woman in black but gimme opin's

So I just watched Terminator 1, 2 and 3. The fourth film doesn't count because it sucks.

The third film, I think, is a perfect closing to the saga. It absolutely blew my mind (first time I watched it). They think they can stop Judgement Day, but it simply can't be stopped. The two monologue, one at the beginning, and one at the end, were particularly amazing. And the images of a nuclear holocaust make a really nice contrast with the soft violin music.

The future has not been written. There is no fate but what we make for ourselves. I wish I could believe that. My name is John Connor, they tried to murder me before I was born, when I was 13 they tried again. Machines from the future. Terminators. All my life my mother told me the storm was coming, Judgment Day, the beginning of the war between man and machines. Three billion lives would vanish in an instant, and I would lead what was left of the human race to ultimate victory. It hasn't happened, no bombs fell, computers didn't take control, we stopped Judgment Day. I should feel safe, but I don't, so I live off the grid - no phone, no address, no one and nothing can find me. I've erased all connections to the past, but as hard as I try I can't erase my dreams, my nightmares.

By the time Skynet became self-aware it had spread into millions of computer servers across the planet. Ordinary computers in office buildings, dorm rooms; everywhere. It was software; in cyberspace. There was no system core; it could not be shutdown. The attack began at 6:18 PM, just as he said it would. Judgment Day, the day the human race was almost destroyed by the weapons they'd built to protect themselves. I should have realized it was never our destiny to stop Judgment Day, it was merely to survive it, together. The Terminator knew; he tried to tell us, but I didn't want to hear it. Maybe the future has been written. I don't know; all I know is what the Terminator taught me; never stop fighting. And I never will. The battle has just begun.

L'immortel (or 22 bullets for America)

Great movie with Jean Reno in it, it's supposed to be based on real life accident but I doubt that.

8/10

Just watched Dr. Seuss' The Lorax. I liked it-- it was a really cute film with some dark, gloomy scenes in between. The musical numbers and animals might have been aimed at a younger audience, and the love story was overly cheesy, but it was funny nonetheless and touching in the end.

Priest...

It was fucking terrible.

What is most annoying is that the source material would have easily made a better movie and would have saved them millions considering they pissed away $60 million on it and some how turned a profit. As far as comic to movie adaptations go, Priest would have been the easiest.

I do have to admit that Paul Bettany looked like a bad ass mother fucker walking out of the church at the end though.

I saw The Hunger Games a couple of days ago.

The concept and some of the scenes really bother me, however, it was a good movie (I've never read the books, however, I might just go out and read them)

(I said that about the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo as well and have yet to read the book).

I saw The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. It was good and I was kept interested for over 2 hours (I felt it was kind of like a Sherlock Holmes movie, more detective than drama). I definitely liked it, but I also think it's completely overrated. It wasn't that good. I'm going to watch Millenium 2 and 3 this weekend (the Swedish prequels and sequels). From what my parents tell me, these two other movies are amazing.

I was really into it. It's amazing for a genre such as general crime mystery to have such an in-depth backstory. A sortof Poirot but with the character building of a real epic.

I won't be watching the Swedish versions, as I really can't get into subbed things; unfortunately people are very uh, protective, of foreign works and when I said that in an IRC channel I got raged at for hours haha.

The books are supposed to be good, I have all three in English but haven't got around to reading them...

...but the author died :(

saw cabin in the woods yesterday evening

it was amazingly intense
at first sight it looks like a horror movie but it has so much more
go see it

if you havent heard of it, don't look up anything, dont read about it, don't watch trailers etc.
if you've seen the trailer, the movie offers even more than that, don't worry

go go go go
