Spinel's Core

Again a problem.

I got not enough time to go to the door of the prison...
I casted a spell in that switch.

edit: Oops, found the dash function.

Okay with the new file I made it through :)

I've found a bug now though, I'm not sure if you're aware of it

After escaping from jail, and making it through the city, you get the gust spell for Elea.  The thing is, for some reason everyone can use the spell. Also at the part where you hit the barrel into the water I used Elea's spell too many times I think because now the number under the gust spell is red, and it will not let me cast it.  It was all fine until the scene with the boat where you need to cast the spell in order to get past two of the boats.  Without being able to switch party members to do it, I'm basically stuck at that spot.
 
Thanks for the info. About the gust spell, everyone can use it due to a glitch with updating the CMS (it's still incomplete, it should be fixed once my scripter gets back on it). Because of that bug, you may also notice the weapon, skill, and actor pictures don't update.

As for not being able to cast the spell at the Bridge, I guess I forgot to remove the EP (SP) cost, which will be much more important in later chapters. (I also didn't expect the player to waste too many Gusts in Boret... how many did it take to get the right angle for the barrel?) Anyway, here's a save file right before the Bridge minigame. You should have enough EP to cast a couple of spells. But just a word of warning, the pack isn't much longer after the Bridge game.
 
Ok I just finished it.  How long until we can expect any more chapters?  Pretty fun game my friend, I enjoyed it.

You weren't kidding when you said it's not much longer after the bridge game haha.  As for Boret, I wasted a few spells just trying to use it, figuring out how it works/range etc. I didn't think it had a limit so I wasn't to worried. The barrel on the other hand I accidentally hit enter to quick and didn't get to read all the info lol. So I was trying to hit it on the bridge until I figured it out :)
 
I don't know about when the next release will be. I'm aiming for January 2009, but I don't want to set any deadlines (couldn't meet the last one because my spriter had some computer problems). I'm glad you liked it.
 
Ok I am stuck at this part.
I'm in the forest collecting fire wood. I collected the one in the right and left parts of the forest and I saw that I need to chop the log, but I don't know how or where to go after that. :/ Someone please help me.

EDIT: Ok nevermind. I found out where to go. I feel so dumb. >.<
 
How many pieces of firewood have you collected so far? There's one toward the bottom left and one on the bottom right (across the river). You'll obtain a new weapon after clearing out one of these areas. Use that on something to get across the water and find the final piece.
 
Are you talking about the river minigame or the actual boss fight? Either way, you should make sure you downloaded the latest version (simplified things a bit).

If you're stuck on the river, just play through a couple of times and try and figure out a good path to take without crashing into objects. It shouldn't be too hard. When you're at the lily pads, stay at either the left or right side, you're more likely to get blocked if you're in the middle.

If it's the actual boss troubling you, make sure you're using the Dash function. If you can't hurt him, hit him a few times and a hint will pop up. Just figure out a tactic and you should be able to defeat him.
 
Are you finding it difficult to figure out the strategy, or carry it out? Check out my post above for a few hints.

Make sure you stay a few tiles close to Liefka; his bird attacks are a little annoying. If his punches are troubling you, try circling around him and wait until he attempts to punch you before trying to swing your axe.

EDIT: The storage's room's exit is Action button instead of player touch. Not a big deal but every bit counts. You also shouldn't make it so the player can walk over chairs.


Now im stuck at the cave... I jumped onto the the first board but cant figure out the rest... Oh and the cave gets too dark at some points

Hit quote instead of modify... This game is pissing me off. The caves are WAAY to dark. I can't see shit and when I got a game over from the bats that I can't see I can't find the person to give me the lantern. You need to make the game more user friendly and not assume everyone has bright monitors.

The caves are supposed to be dark; that's why you have a lantern (you automatically start out with it). Sorry if you had trouble figuring it out (the menu is incomplete, which is why you can't equip it from there). You need to talk to Aluxes, who is located on the first dark map. Alternatively, you can press "Q" and "W" to scroll through skills and items you have.
 
Thanks for the feedback, I'll take that into mind. For now, though, can you just adjust the brightness setting? Hope it isn't too hard to see on your screen.
 
It's at max. ;)

I'm also stuck at the bat.. I've looked at the ground and studied it's movement but nothing comes to mind. Maybe it's becus the screen is too dark or maybe I'm just being dumb I don't know but it's waaay too early in the game to be running into this many deaths.
