I think I'd like to lower the brightness and up the contrast on the whole thing in general now that I've seen it on another screen, my tablet's screen is kind of dim.

Awesome Bro

I hate it when that happens. You design a site, give it a final polish then you see it on a different screen. The next words out your mouth are "Oh for fuck sake"

I've been meaning to get a portfolio site online for a while and I've been messing with the header this morning. The reason for me doing this is so I can still have my blog site for all my rants, videos, random shit... but at the same time have a professional approach from an entirely different domain. It became obvious this was necessary when I was asked for a portfolio the other day and I had to send them a crappy gallery linked from a freewebs (to avoid them seeing my blog site). I'll get the best of boht worlds and nobody will know the difference.

The title for my online portfolio is "hi july"

GAY!!

I dig the two with the background images over the ones without; both are neat, you could do a day/night thing maybe.  As for the blog issue, is your blog so unprofessional? ><  My personal site is completely in existence to demo my stuff, but I intend to start blogging there eventually once I get around to writing the code to run it.  I hadn't considered the idea that I wouldn't want a potential client/employer to see it, hmm... Maybe keep the rants off the main page eh. :)

I actually thought the background looked a little tacky, it's a surprise to see somebody prefers it
My blog is like a teenagers dream. I talk about stupid stuff, make stupid videos and portray all my art (both stupid & professional). I think the site itself doesn't really give off a good "smell" to employers, especially if they're of the older generation. Buying the domain is £2.50 and the hosting I have sorted from a friend of mine. It's a small price to pay to have a separate life on the web.

When I first started up my blog site I never even considered anyone seeing it that I'd be working for in the future. But as you get older you have to start taking care of your image and keep it as appealing as possible. You never know who could be lurking around your site at anytime! Scary ...

I think because my next step in life is my career, things just change. Sure, I don't like the fact they do but it's just he way it is. You've gotta grow up sometime I guess.

The background could have been tacky but I think it's understated enough to look good.  I really don't like the bland semi-gloss plastic look that's in vogue right now on mainstream sites, a little texture and imagery is nice when used tastefully.

The DigimonPet website has been improved majorly!

Seriously, there are waaay more pages than before and I'm getting from 300-350 views a day (Pretty good for an entirely FREE website lol)

Xilef this isn't an advertisement topic; you don't need to post yours more than once.  It's about the design (hence why it's in design and development).

The design has been changed, hence why I reposted link, but ya, link is a few pages back now, but I have a new banner which I think is much better than before, and what do you think about my roll over buttons I have added? And I have some snazzed up FavIcon too. I have been doing webdesign more than RMXP recently and I think I'm getting good.

[WIP] I haven't really linked in all the code yet, but heres the main template for the layout

I'm playing around with AJAX to make a drop down navigation menu at the top, Haven't decided if i'm going to keep the side menu. Anyway, the site is very much a work in progress. I hope you like the concept however.

Yeah... nobody wants to rip off Runescape.  Generally people like to steal designs from people with *talent* ;D

I finally relaunched my personal site, after a month of off-and-on work on building a CMS from the ground up.  There aren't enough features open to the public to do any technical UI/UX evaluation but I'd love some comments on the visual design.

Oh, uh, if you use IE6 or 7 don't bother.  It works in those browsers, but they're incapable of properly rendering many CSS features I use for the version REAL browsers can see :)

Edit: scratch that, it doesn't work in IE right now, typically enough some small changes have horrendously fucked it over and I don't feel like narrowing down the problem and fixing it.  Stick to Firefox, Opera or Safari kids.
