RPG Breeze (Cancelled)

I have an interesting announcement to make.

I know it's officially screenshot day, and I hate to put it off, but I need *one* more day, to get the new tileset ready, because I won't release a screenshot using a ripped tileset. I have the image, I just need to get it set up. Just let me get some sleep first.

Anyway, for the announcement:
In cooperation with Lucid Studios, we are pleased to announce that a remake of "Lucid Awakening" will serve as our technical demonstration. It's only appropriate that a game-making application be tested in actually making a game, just to be thorough. The remake will be freely available, and released alongside the editor (though demos will be released sooner than the editor.)

I'd like to give you a firm date, but I've tried that and it doesn't work. It will be released as soon as it's finished, trust me I'm itching more than you are. Until then, just be patient, and look forward to the release of an early Lucid Awakening demo to see how it looks.

Well guys, I agree with that. We can't have screenshots using an unfinished version of the editor displaying the shoddy VX tileset, can we? We must have a higher quality presentation! Rest assured, it looks like it'll be good.

Well as long as you have plans to add some, I'll be waiting. (on a off topic thought though what's up with your website {found link in your profile} goes to a construction page {a default construction page placed by your host})

The website error is because I'm going through a company change. The workcenter is still there, but you'll find that the main site is down because we used to be a graphic design firm, but now we're converting that to become "Sunbiz Creative", and making theorystudios into the gaming half of the studio.

Oh, another suggestion here. I'm not sure what you're doing with switches and variables and the like, but you know how in RMXP, with conditional branches and variables, you choose what you want it to represent? A lacking feature in RMXP/RMVX is the fact that you cannot make it set for the player's level. If you hadn't already planned on this, it's a good idea now; I find that I often want something to happen at a certain level, and I have to end up jumping through a bunch of hoops.

I'm finally looking into this, theory...I'm very impressed. You seem very ambitious! I am looking forward to working with you and seeing what you can do with Lucid Awakening ^__^. Good luck!!

Jayden, let him take his time, I'm sure he's busy with something more important.
Does it really matter if he posts them today or in two days anyway?

lol @ jayden

I know, I'm working on the tileset now. Give me a few minutes and hopefully I'll have enough done for a couple screenies.

[Edit] It's going to be more than a few minutes- stimexing gets addicting lol

tileset...?

I guess I have to save all of my stuff for the marketplace then... :eek:uch:

*SIGH*

well, I guess I can be moral support at least then lol

=D I got lol'd!

But yeah, I thought Rico was doing tilesets... Unless you're saying you were importing/setting passabilities/Making the maps...

Stimexing?

well I didn't have a full tileset, just that demo image because I didn't have the demo to set it up right. I guess I have to wait longer now due to the fact that my laptop I work on has no internet connection or wireless card.

So it's probably fine that Theory is doing the tileset, he's got the program right there. I can put my stuff up later in the marketplace.

EDIT:

hey theory I also had another thought... (be afraid, be VERY afraid!!!)

can you make it so that RPG::A can do parallax layers for battle backgrounds, like in Tales of Phantasia for SNES? In that game, the "battleground" was like 2 screens wide, and as the player moved back and forth smacking enemies, the background had like 3 layers scrolling at different speeds...i wanna do that in RPG::A =)

something like this:

OK guys, I've heard it through the tubes: There's an announcment in the works. I'm not sure what it's about, but something's going to be posted by Theory once he gets the time to come over here.

*gasp*!! Really? I cannot wait. Hopefully it will be a good announcement and not a bad one though...

@Ricoman - wow...that looks really cool. That would be fun to have in here.....

It's true, there is a major announcement in the works. As for the nature of it, I'm sure it will bear a mixed response. I can't make it until tommorow, because I'm waiting to hear back from the development team on their response to my recent inquiry.

I'll make the announcement tommorow.
