Good, let us know cause i'm the same as you, i don't really like putting efforts over dying projects. Although i'm pretty sure it will all be positive in the end. He must be real busy.
 
Anyway, progress is steady. I'm sorry I've not been keeping everyone up to date. We're still working on the scripting. It's a lot to think about- because I'm trying to cover everything XP covered, everything VX covered, and everything they both missed. Keep in touch, demo will be ready soon. ~theory

Well, Theory is alive and kicking. He has apparently been buried in code, says a demo will be ready soon. =)

well, anyways, I have a basic sense for the tileset but until he's back or sends me the demo I can't really go much farther. The actual sprite template still needs to be done as mine wasn't acceptable. Do we have any spriters out there willing to do a sprite template for a 120x60 character sprite? :specs:

Words are just words. Perhaps when I see some screen shots I'll then telling what I think, but untill that time this to me is just another collection of so called "i'm making this" and never gets done.

There are pictures, yes, but they aren't by Theory. Those are just tests of the tilesets by another person. As best as I can tell, Theory removed any screens he might have posted by early December last year.

well to be accurate Theory never posted a screenshot. Theory isn't DOING the tileset I am. He can't do every blasted part of a massive venture like this by himself, that's just ludicrous. What you are wanting is screen shots if WIPs of the program interface, if I'm reading you right. :eek::

Well, I'm perfectly content to wait. Anyway, I think the only thing we really can do is wait to see if he'll update the thread.

To be honest when I come to a topic as such all screen shots should be located in the first post; regardless of who made them. Making someone go to such and such page "is redundant" and "poor planning." As part of a team; I take it that's what you are part of it should not be hard to get a hold of the topic creator. And I said screen shots meaning of the editor, not tilesets or maps made with it.

no he didn't actually. I would assume that, as he is one of maybe two working on all of the infrastructure, coding, layout, etc, that March 1 is a goal not an end. I woud love to have Theory come and at least post an update tho...
 
You got in touch with him once. Can you just send him a quick email asking if the March 1st release date looks like a plausible assumption?
 
Okay, well, I've been away for awhile, and I have to say that it's nice to see the fireplace still burning at my return.

So, down to business. First, why was I away. Well, as was pointed out way back when (near the beginning of this topic), I'm a businessman. A gamer, yes. A modder, yes. A developer, somewhat. But more than all, 'tis business that pays the bills. My business dragged me, kicking and screaming, away from the board. Not from this project, but from this board. I've been racking myself to the bone trying to keep TheoryStudios alive, the office open, and the fires burning for all my projects. In all honesty, I stretched myself too thin, and have spent over a month pulling it all back together.

So, now that that's off my chest, let's get to the updates, starting where I left off, replying to each. Might want to open a new tab to keep up with me here.

[edit: this starts on page 2 where I left off, and increments post by post responses.]

1. rico- Character sizes can be any size you want to set. Default will probably be just slightly larger than RMXPRTP, probably near half-kaizer.
2. slenkar- email was down for a couple days. It's back up.
3. xgamexfreakx - release date is currently unstable. Not officially pushed, but unstable. Should have more later this week regarding that. As for how it's going, well, it's about to get real interesting.
4. glitch- good to see you still got my back. Wish I deserved so much credit. While yes, I did fast-track it, this time has been more spent getting my own life back together to where I can safely fast-track this once again. Thanks for the support tho, it definately helps to see people believe in it.
5. xgamefr... we'll just call you xgxg - bumping... good. kept this live long enough for me to return.
6. rico - why did you take so long to email me about this? theory [at] theorystudios [dot] net everybody if you need something.
7. rico - love it. Great work on the tileset. Send it to me when you get a chance, and we'll see it live.
8. harbino - there is talk of this. However, it will be a seperate venture, in no way related to RPG::A, as 3D would push release beyond realism at this time. Let's get 2D's up and running, and funded, and hopefully whatever comes in for support will be enough to make a 3rd dimension step forward.
9 - jayden! You really do exist... - There will be a very limited demo- you can create, test, all functions are there, except for saving. There will be screenshots, as soon as the lead developer gets the interface xml support working so I can pretty things up a bit. The marketplace will have loads of free content- but encourages a living community by allowing premium content developers to request monetary support for things. Such as, for example, a visual equipment script (if it wasn't built in) was released, or something truly revolutionary, like Mode07, the author could set like a $2 fee and slowly recieve something to keep him motivated besides, well, nothing. As for a list, I'm working on a list of objects and their commands, but I'm afraid it changes constantly. This works, adding that breaks it, so it's removed. Added in a different form, changed, renamed, and hidden because we thought of something better. I'll get you a list, but no promises on it matching the release identically. Thanks for the first-page answer, good to know. And there's already a character creator. And *excellent* suggestion on the move route. Although it's done through waypoints now, with a pathfinding algorythm.
10 - rico - we'll discuss some 3D things later, but it won't be standard in the release.
11 - 18 - skipping
19 - rico - yes, it has an 8-way standard. Don't worry about char sizes until I get the template released. speaking of which, rico, I'll email you about that.
20 - nevermind about 19. Rico, when did you get the template done? Or did you? What? *confused now* but damn that looks good. Can we see it without armor?
21 - 28 - skipping the helmet catfight
